I wrote previously about Mingo, my foster cat. He is doing very well.
Eating healthy and has caught up on his sleep. Mingo is a wonderful
cat and quite a gentleman. I've been letting him hang out with my
cats (4 girls) and he is very friendly to them, but not pushy. Only
Sabrina still hisses at him....but she does that with any new kitty.
Mingo is scheduled for a dental cleaning and may be losing a few teeth
on Thur. Any purrs for a safe and successful dental are appreciated.
We have had a stroke of luck. A lady called who was interested in
adopting a big male orange cat. She had 2 cats, but one passed away
a month or so ago. She wants a friend for her other cat and she
really enjoyed having her big orange boy. It will be a few weeks
yet until he is up for adoption, but she is interested in fostering
Mingo until he is ready. Then if he and her current cat get along,
she wants to adopt him. She came to meet him last week and both
of us really liked her.
I did feel obligated to have the discussion about each cat being an
individual and just because Mingo looks similar to her previous cat,
he will have a different personality. Probably a lot of you who find
homes for cats have to have that conversation. Mingo is wonderful
and deserves a home that loves him the way he is.

Purrs for Mingo. Mr. Pumpkin had cleaning and removal of a few teeth a few
months ago. I was a mess worrying about the process and how he would come
out of it as he is 15 years old. Everyone on the board was so supportive
and helpful. Even wonderful, sweet lurkers who don't writer but read every
day. They all help you feel calmer and better. We'll be waiting to hear
the "He's home and feeling fine report!"

We are sending lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for Mingo's dental
to go really well.
I'm so glad to hear you've found someone who thinks about adopting
Mingo. I think you are right in pointing out to her that cats who look
alike can be very different.
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek
