Hi all! Just a quick question on the gang of orange.  They are just over 4
months now, and I can't get them desexed until 6 months (no vet in my state
will touch them before 6) and they are a bit, well, smelly. Not as in
spraying, but there is a definite odour that my others don't have. Not
faeces, or urine, more like cat food. They have normal poopies, and no messy
bums, but they are a bit unpleasant to be around....I feed them the best cat
food I can afford to, and the others aren't smelly. Should I bathe them? It
is lovely, 25 deg celsius plus weather here at the moment, so they would dry
off very quickly. Advice please? They all weighed 1.25 kg when I weighed
them a few weeks back.

Just my $.02, but I think if you're going to bathe them you've gotta
start when they're very, very young.

Thanks Chak. They did get one bath at 4 weeks due to a mix up with flea
treatments, so they have been bathed before.

I've been bathing my two cats since they were kittens.  They love the water.
It's not uncommon for one or both of them to join me in the shower.

Cats probably don't need bathing, for the most part, but when you *need* to
do it, it's nice when it isn't a big deal for the cat.

Mine  go nuts when I go into the shower they pull on the door, cry and go on
that they can't come in.  Now mind you this has been going on for years and
happens all the time.  I open the shower door they rush in knowing full well
the shower is going.  Well you can guess it they get soaked go nuts to get
out  and go rushing down to momma loudly complaining that daddy got them
wet.  Now they say curiosity killed the cat  would you guess that they come
back 75% of the time and go thru the same thing again  just minutes later.
I think they do it to get momma attention but they get a bath at least twice
a week.

lol!! yes...everytime my hubby showers, one of them is sure to fall in
'accidentally on purpose', and goes running around complaining about being
wet!! They probably do do it for attention...!!

well, none of them really mind the water. They usually ignore the spray
bottle and have been known to come into the shower. This was probably aided
by the kids trying to 'share' their bath with their 'babies' a few
times.....:) Might be time for a little bath! There is a cat show up here in
July, so i'm hoping to drag them all along for the 'pet' class, if I have
all their vaccines up to dat by then, so I'll have to bathe them anyway...
