The tension between Eli and Lily has all but evaporated.
A few minutes ago I was in the kitchen opening a can (of hoomin food) but of
course all the cats came running at the sound, and hung around my feet
begging. (Even Baby Eyes, who will hardly touch wet food, does it.) In that
process, they all mill around rubbing their bodies all over my legs and one
another.
The crowd included Eli & Lily at the same time, without a harsh word spoken
by either side. And earlier this afternoon, Eli was rubbing all over the
chair she was sleeping on, and she just purred.
I really wonder if the Feliway is doing this, and if so, will the peace
continue after it's gone?

Yes, the Feliway may be helping. It is not a cure-all, but I have found it
to be very helpful. Don't cut it off too soon -- give it plenty of time.
It is likely that you will only need it on a temporary basis, but you don't
want to move too quickly because your cats are already undergoing a
considerable adjustment with a change of home enviornment and all the
changes that entails.

I've got enough for two months, do you think that will be enough time?

This is not one of those things you can predict in advance. It depends on
circumstances and the reactions of your cats. That said (which I realize
basically says "nothing"), I would expect that two months will probably be
enough time. I always keep some extra Feliway on hand just in case it is
needed. For example, I use it when I leave on vacation and have a pet
sitter even though there have never been any problems. I used Feliway for
about 2 months when I first adopted Duffy and did not need it after that for
routine use. If your cats seem agitated, though, I would use it until they
seem relaxed and "settled in."

It may worth turning them off every other day, after a couple of weeks, to
make them last longer.

That might be a possibility as a tapering-off process, but I certainly would
not do it this early. The kitties are just now getting settled in a new
environment.

it's the Feliway, I tell ya, the Feliway! Heh. Glad to hear all the
furbabies are behaving themselves.

This is great news Pat. All fingers, paws, and toes crossed that the
ceasefire holds indefinitely.

Wonderful news! It looks like the move was good for the cats as well as you.

You've no idea how good it is to have all this added space. The cats so far
have not gotten serious about trying to get outside. I hope that continues
at least until I can get the front porch enclosed. The layout of the house
is odd, both entry/exit doors are in the front, so any escapes will be too
close to the road for comfort.

I know how scary that is! My front entry is a couple dozen feet
from a very busy road (I've even had car accidents wind up in the
front yard, mere feet from the house) and the times I've had
escapes were out the front door (and two from a front window).
Shamrock escaped when I had some work being done, and the guy
didn't shut the storm door all the way, and Shamrock nosed his way
out. I didn't know he was gone for about a half hour. Found him in
the next door neighbor's yard, and he ran from me when I tried to
catch him. Luckily he ran into my backyard. Shadow (RB) fell out
of two front windows before I realized they were all insecure.
Ground level, so not a far drop. Again, the first time he was out
for at least a half hour, and I found him chewing grass next to the
driveway. Both of these incidents were fairly soon after moving in,
so things are a lot different now, and hopefully there won't be any
repeats. The second time he fell out of the front window, I was in
the same room and got him before he realized he was outside. He
just leaned on the screen too hard.
Best wishes and congrats on your new home.
