Many thanks to the Mass folks who wished me rain in Sydney, Australia.
It is *pouring* today and is likely to keep up the whole day and I'm
very happy. Our down pipes are gurgling and our water tanks are
filling - I had a guilt-free shower this morning!
I have a day at home today, so had the wonderful opportunity to spend
an hour or so this morning with a Persephone (tuxeudo sweetheart and
resident nut) curled up on my shoulder purring her fool heart out.
Mind you, this is after she had *insisted* that I get up at 6:30 (on a
non-work day!!) by bringing me her rattling mouse, shoving it in my
face and demanding that I toss it across the bedroom for her to play
fetch. She retrieved it about, oh, a dozen times before she judged
that I was sufficiently awake to cuddle her. Turns out that I can
throw with greater accuracy with my eyes closed, half asleep, than I
can with my eyes open, half awake :^)
Persephone ain't the philosopher that Spock is, but she is my
sweetheart and makes us all laugh with her clowning.

I will, if you'll send some of your sunshine and sweltering temperatures.
Okay 93F is a bit high so send me 76F please.
Low temperatures speeding your way. You are welcome to them. We haven't had
much of a summer at all. I've had to light the fire for nearly a fortnight
now. I might have done without it if auntie & uncle weren't here, but I
didn't want them to be cold, they're used to central heating.
I often think about what one of my schoolfriends mother said. They lived in
a huge, inadequately heated house and they were proud. "There is no such
thing as cold weather, only inadequate clothing." LOL.
It's true, isn't it? When it's minus something outside and I'm under my 15
tog duvet with an electric blanket on, it doesn't feel cold at all!

Nope, when I went out the door on my way to the dentist's this morning it
was still hot and muggy - the weatherman is *ALWAYS* promising us a cold
front, but it gets as far south as Dallas and then turns away again. I've
had Christmas Days that were in the high 80s!! SIGH!!!

I remember, as a kid, visiting my step mother's family south of
Houston in December and running around in shorts and t-shirts. Not
sure what the name of the little town was, but like a lot of small
farm towns it was already being boarded up by in the late 60s so it's
probably gone by now.

Yes, that' me. The other Krista, being "a bit" north of
Massachusetts, has probably already frozen solid. :-D
