How did he fit in there? He doesn't look like a little boy.
The pictures are so cute.

LOL, those are wonderful! I love the pics of Pippin looking out the
front window of the dollhouse. This doll family has one big house
guest!

Yep, pretty fun to look at the big cat staring out the dollhouse window!
Britta, when I lived in Bangkok I had a school chum whose father built her a
dollhouse that looked like a traditional Thai house of someone of median
income; that is, not rich, not shack along the river poor. It had the
curled up peaks on the roof, you know, to ward off evil spirits. It had a
slaked roof and was made of teak. I was soooo envious of that dollhouse! I
wonder if she still has it some 35 years later. That would be a treasure to
be kept and handed down!

There is a museum near here that has a whole bunch of miniature
traditional houses like that. They are gorgeous. A dollhouse like that
would indeed be a treasure to keep.

I wish I could find my photo album. It's packed in a box someplace. The
house we lived in in Bangkok was a place reproduced from an architecheral
model. 4 levels, the entire third floor was surrounded by a stone balcony
and the stone steps going up to it were over a stone fish pond. Each
bedroom on the 4th level had a balcony; the master bedroom had 2 balconies.
There was an attached "servants quarters" out back off the 2nd level, which
was the family room with an office and yet another balcony. The below the
ground 1st level was the kitchen with windows that opened out to the ground.
IIRC, $250 a month. Wowsa! House number 1 on Soi 63 (Ekamai); I wonder if
it's still there? I still have a key to the gate-house on my key ring :)

That sounds like a nice house! Yeah prices for houses are cheap here.
We pay only $375/month for our 3 bedroom house. But when you think of
the fact that there's snakes in the ceiling, maybe that's way too
much!!!
The really nice apartments in Bangkok are extremely expensive though.
My friends in Bangkok were paying around $3000/month for nice big 2-3
bedroom apartments. They can charge that much easily because most
people's company will pay it. Dennis' company pays for nothing, so
we're in this small town where it's cheap.
I can tell you that your house in Bangkok is definitely not there
anymore. On Sukhumvit and Ekamai, there is a big sky train station, a
mall with movie theatres and accross the street is a big bus terminal.
No private type houses whatsoever.
