It's Saturday. It's shopping day. It's raining hard.
When I get home, I dread having to unload the trunk, in the heavy
rain. Partly because it's wet, partly because my inconsiderate
neighbors have friends over, taking up all the parking places near my
door.
So I open the door, and Dulce Mae is waiting for me. She comes out
with me, each time I pick up a few bags (umbrella in one hand, plastic
bags hanging off the thumb on the other hand...).
Dulce Mae literally sits on the sidewalk and watches me. I can see her
fur twitch, and her ears twitch, as the rain soaks her to the skin.
As I take my load inside, she comes in with me, watches me set the
bags down, then waits at the door for me to go get another load (there
were seven loads). Each time, she sat on the sidewalk and kept an eye
on me.
As soon as I finished, I got the cat brush and a towel, and treated
Dulce Mae to a nice towelling and a leisurely brushing. She is such a
good helper, and deserves it.
Plus, I got some purrs!
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

So sweet. Mine wait for me to come in from shopping also, but in the
kitchen hoping I will dig out a treat or a toy before I go out for another
load of goodies. You've got to love cats!

I know that feeling! I got back from my road-trip last Tuesday only to find
a strange car in "my" parking space by my door and all the other ones close
to it filled up. I had a suitcase to haul in, a large cooler, etc. and
there was snow on the ground to boot.

Of course, there might be cat treats in those bags, too! She can't let
anything happen to them - er, I mean you!

None of cats here would do that (Dulce Mae acts just like a
devoted d-pet) especially if door is opened here when it's
been below zero (lately); they take one sniff and retreat
back from cold air wafting in! I love all the fat short furry
people but they all have that "what have you done for me
lately" feline expression. Winter wanderers they're not.
