Trying to pop in here and there...still some progress on the home kitty front

Hi ya'll,

For now, having a few breaks from Real Life, I just wanted to pop in and say
hi.  Have missed you all.  Thought I'd report some good news.  The kitty
dynamics since Omar left us for the Rainbow Bridge in November have
readjusted themselves and interestingly enough we have made some progress
between archrivals Midnight and Tucker!  Since about 3 weeks now, we've
tried to experiment to see if we can allow Tucker to be out of Celeste's
room at night (with me sleeping on the sofa a couple of times to "oversee"
things) and it has worked out really well!  Used to be if Tucker was
separated from the other cats overnight he would charge out of the room in
the a.m. and want to mark (as in pee) on the first thing he could.  Now that
he's alllowed out at night, this is not happening much at all anymore -- woo
hoo!  I've also noticed some truces going on between he and Midnight at
times and have caught them sleeping near each other on the sofa, bed, etc.!
I've even been lying on the sofa watching tv at night and have had Tucker,
Midnight, and Oreo or Robin on me at the same time.  Pretty neat -- it's
pretty cool after 3 years now to still have progress being made.

Something else kind of weird...in losing Omar I have really missed my bath
buddy; Omar always used to keep me company in the bath and just recently
I've had Midnight start taking up that role...Celeste also used to pet Omar
in a certain cute way that he would respond to by headbutting her hand and
Celeste and I were talking a day or so ago about how it seemed that Omar's
presence is sort of being carried on by Midnight and Tucker; Celeste then
proceeded to show me Tucker reacting like Omar did to this same kind of
petting.  It's sort of sweet and comforting at the same time.

lots of purrs and hugs to all,
Christine and Midnight, Tucker, Robin & Oreo

What a nice message!  It's so nice to read about the progress you're making.
I know Omar's loss was really rough, and it's swet to hear that Midnight is
trying to take over som of his "responsibilities."

Missed you too, so nice to hear from you, Christine! Interesting about
the dynamics changing. I've noticed something similar here too. In their
separate ways, Miranda and Caliban seem to take up certain kitty duties
that Frank used to take care of.

I'm glad to hear that Tucker is not marking so much these days and that
further integration keeps happening.  Yeah!

You know, I can really imagine how dynamics must change when a cat is gone.
I can see how the remaining cats can pick up parts of roles of the missing
kitty.  {{hugs}} to all ov you.

Good to hear from you, Christine, and glad some of the dynamics are
getting better.  I know you still miss Omar {{{{hugs}}}}}.
