Since people think I'm such a bad meowmie and they're so perfect I
won't be posting anything further to this group about Tessie, Scout,
Silver or any other feline I happen to encounter or hear about.
Yowie, Catnipped, Victor, Dave, Britta and everyone else who posts
their sweet cat stories will be missed.
Goodbye.

Karen, please don't leave the group. If there are posts that upset you,
just killfile the posters.
I don't think that anybody here thinks you're a bad meowmie - I honestly
just think they're just trying to help you integrate Tessie successfully.
But even so, if they're bothering you, killfile them, don't leave. There's
a lot of helpful advice and support you could miss if you leave just because
of a few posts that have upset you.

Why even bother to killfile? It's easy enough to simply
scroll past posts by people you've decided to dislike. I
haven't followed ALL the posts about Tessie, but those I've
read seemed to be attempting to offer the benefit of their
own experiences in integrating multi-cat households. If you
don't feel their suggestions are valid, don't use them!
Although it's true that, in the final analysis, interfeline
relationships are something the cats have to work out for
themselves (and there's always a certain amount of friction
involved), you obviously know your cats better than
strangers do.

I don't understand, Karen, truly I don't. I haven't seen any posts that
suggest you are a bad meowmie, why do you think so?
I have seen posts that suggest that you are expecting too much, too quickly
with the integration. That could be true. It does not mean you are a bad
meowmie, I rather took it to be offering good advice, myself. Didn't you?

Karen, please copy and paste the graphs, or even just lines, that you
interpret as personal criticism or that suggest you are a bad meomie,
so that I, and the others, can at least explain or know what you are
talking about.
No one, me included, wants to convey *anything* except help so that
Tessie becomes a part of your family and has a forever home.
I have been there. I have made all the mistakes and I've told you about
Jacky, the cat that I rushed too much integrating. . All I wanted to do
was help you. I thought that was why you posted for advice, in the
beginning.
And again, please copy and paste what you consider offensive, so that
we know what you are talking about, and how you think it makes you look
like a "bad meowmie."

Oh dear! I don't understand why you have been offended, and hope you
won't stop posting about all your kitties. I for one was so pleased that
you both decided to give Tessie a second chance, and am sure she will
soon become accepted by Silver and Scout.

Karen, *PLEASE* don't leave RPCA. Just because some people don't understand
that others may not have the room in their house, nor the time, to take
*months* to integrate a new cat into the home. Please ignore their comments
and continue to post about your beautiful cats (Tessie looks like Betty &
*Weeble*!!!!)

I don't think anyone here thinks you are a "bad meowmie", they are just
trying to give you integration advice based on experience.

Hey, in case I'm one of the posters you're talking about, I'd like to
say that I certainly don't think you're a bad cat mom! But I've had both
good and bad experiences with kitty introductions, depending on how I've
handled them. And I could see that you might have some trouble if your
established cats get into the habit of being aggressive toward Tessie
because she interacted with them too soon.
You might have seen my post from a couple of weeks ago, where I
described how I integrated Roxy and Smudge, which I took great pains to
do slowly and carefully, resulting in their being really good buddies -
as compared with my much less careful integration of Licky, who to this
day does not get along well with Smudge.
So all I was saying was, "been there, done that" - in both ways, and
I was hoping that you would have a better experience if you took your
time with it.
Please don't leave - I have to find out how this one turns out!! :)

I'm as lost as everyone else. I haven't read all the Tessie posts,
but have read quite a few, and posted once with a couple of
suggestions, but certainly not with any criticism, just my experience.
Karen, I hope you'll re-think leaving. Sometimes, and I know this
happens to me, I think we just are at a point where we feel more
emotionally vulnerable than usual, and things hit us harder than they
otherwise would. Give it a little time, and maybe you'll feel better.
Hang in there.

Unless someone has said something in private e-mail, I'm as lost as everyone
else. All I can see is advice, which is not the same as implying anything
about your capabilities as a Meowmie (we already know tha tyou are a *good*
meowmie!). Advice is advice, there to take up or ignore as we see fit.
Now I'm worried. Are you OK, hon? Nothing wrong with a break from the group
if you feel you need it, but you *will* be missed, as will Tessie, Scout &
Silver. Please, when you feel better, come back.

Judging by your past posts you seem to have a good way with words -
better than I do in any case. As I think she is gone from this group
perhaps you could send her a private email explain this or whatever you
think? I too think she just needs a break from this group. I hope she
returns eventually.

It's all too easy to give, or take offense, where none is intended when
posting to usenet. I imagine, Karen must be feeling particularly sensitive
at the moment, for what ever reason. I do hope she comes back eventually,
she's not the first valued poster to leave.

Or someone sent her an e-mail that wasn't very nice. It happens on occasion,
some mean well but lack 'people skills' so to speak, and others are more
like trolls who like to take advantage of those of us who wear our hearts on
our sleeves - at least when it comes to our kitties (ie, most of us here).
I've had both. The former, I thank for their concern because they mean well
even if their words are not well chosen, but the latter just get plonked.
Thankfully I'm in a 'headspace' which allows me to not take either
personally, but 15 or so years ago, and they would have both had me doing
exactly what Karen has done - withdrawing from the perceived source of pain.
I hope she can realise that we here on RPCA (and Catslaves) were trying to
help, and that anything posted on group that she found hurtful was only
intended to help, so that perhaps she can 'trust us' again. But if it was
somethign said in an e-mail, well, we can only pray she misses us as much as
we'll miss her, and chooses to rejoin us. She will of course, be welcomed
back with open arms.

I know I'm coming on this a little late, but I've been recovering...and
no, I never thought you were a bad katzenmutter. Everyone has ups and
downs integrating a cat; when we got Odessa it took months to get her to
come and eat in the open, without her cussing us out! I hope you'll
forgive those who might have said impolite things, because I for one like
your kitty stories, and hope that the catnip hangover has worn off the
overindulgent! ;-)
Blessed be,
Baha
