HA. Ha.
Actually, her name is Ca-le-co, spelled Calico. Guess what kind of cat
she is. And she really isn't staying. Someone is coming to look at her
this evening (if they show up). She is here through at least next week
because she is getting a dental which she needs badly but after that, I
am not averse to sending her to the no-kill shelter here in town.
Someone I know is willing to make a large donation in her name so that
her adoption price will be kept low enough to make her attractive since
she is a little bit older. This apartment is NOT large enough for four
cats. I can deal with three cats wanting to be within 5 feet of me all
the time, but for some reason, four cats wanting to be within 5 feet of
me all the time is just too much. I need more breathing room than that.
So, no more of this, how's the new cat? I don't have a new cat. Uh uh.
No way. No how. Just wait. I'll show you guys. I'll tell you all
about her new home in about a week and how much she likes it and how
nice they are (and if it doesn't happen, I'LL LIE!)

I took this picture yesterday, she's a very pretty cat. I don't know where
she comes from, I do know, Snoopy hates her.

Do they actually do that? I asked about donating Eros' adoption fees
to his prospective owners, and the shelter manager advised me not to
do that. She said people swayed by a "bargain" cat are often
unwilling or unable to pay for its needs (medical, care, etc).
Then again, they did reduce the fees for shelter cats if they'd been
around a while, but down maybe $20 total. So maybe that's
hypocritical.
Anyway, they suggested instead buying a gift certificate to the
shelter's associated pet store and donating that to whoever adopted
him. That's what I ended up doing.
