Suddenly I am under enormous pressure to get moved....
I had planned on finishing by March 8th, which is when Gloria returns
from her trip, because as of a few days ago she hadn't found someone
to be here to watch over a mare who might foal early, she's due on the
17th she's already had a milk bag for three weeks and early in the year
they tend to deliver in more like 330 days which means she could drop
it while Gloria is gone.
Then this woman decided she wants to move in the 1st - fine, I can get
finished in a week - but today she was here when I got back, dropping
off some of her stuff, and she said she wants to move in THIS WEEKEND.
There's just no way I can finish that quickly!!
Every day I'm hauling loads of heavy stuff to the house in town. Hundreds
and hundreds of books, heavy heavy boxes, and my only helper can only
spare half a day once or twice a week.
It's killing my back, I am not supposed to lift over about 20 lbs. and if I
do a lot of physical work in one day then I need to rest for a day or so
before doing more of the same. And on top of that I am out of money so
one more trip and I'll be out of gas until next week.
I am feeling like in a pressure cooker about to explode.... I just can't do
the impossible, after living here six years and accumulating a ton of stuff,
less than half of it is moved so far and it has taken most of two weeks to
do it. Sure I can go faster but not *that* much faster.
So I asked Gloria, why can't they stay in your house until you get back,
that way the woman will be able to watch the mare closely. She doesn't
have a whole lot of stuff and has already left most of it on a trailer in my
yard, the rest she will have in her camper. So Gloria called her and said
this is how it has to be. But I still only have a week left to finish
moving -
already moved three vanloads this week and am very very sore.....
The kicker is that my biggest concern isn't the stress this is for me but
rather how hard it is on the cats, since this is the only home they've ever
known, moving will be a major shock for them especially if it has to be
done in a heated rush.

I wish I could do something to help. All I can do, is send purrs, I'm sure
it will all be worth it in the end.

Pat: I am in complete sympathy... This last month has been all about moving
my DP here from 8 hrs away.... Combined with the stress of my messy/lazy
roommates giving no support & deciding to move out on a weeks notice...
Pressure cooker here too....
Best of luck...
