So after a very rough night with DD last night, I finally let her sleep
next to me (for the 1st time) and as we were drifting off to sleep, it
occurred to me that sleeping with cats had prepared me pretty well for
this: a small being taking up a disproportionate amount of space in the
bed :), it even prepared me for the small stuffed elephant being pressed
up against my nose.
There's other obvious things, like being used to dealing with another
being's bodily functions and excretions on a daily basis.
So, how has being owned by pets prepared you for parenthood?

It's helped convince me that, if I barely have time for a cat, I
certainly don't have time for kids!
And that's a really good thing to know.
