We finally got winter going here in Central Texas, which means it's cold
(for us) and dry. I noticed there's a lot of static electricity
discharging all over. Basho jumped on my chest, like he always does, and
started purring his little head off. I was petting him and decided to
blow into his face, like I often do. He have me a look and lunged to nip
my nose, like he often does. Then suddenly, as he was about to make
contact with my nose (my head was against the back of the chair, so I
couldn't push back), he was zapped with static electricity! :) I started
laughing so hard, I no longer made a suitable bed. He had an annoyed
look in his face, he got off and walked away.

Poor Persia has been getting zapped for a month now. I reach to pat her
head and since the zap usually happens on her ears she flattens them down
and waits! She still wants the scritches but she's anticipating a spark on
her ear first.

Years ago I had a cat who loved to be petted until we had our first
winter together, and suddenly every time I touched her, she'd get a
zap on her head (or nose, etc). After that, she wasn't so keen on
coming up to me for pets. :( I think she blamed me for the painful
sparks!

It's so cute when that happens :) Has he forgiven you yet?
