Not sure what's wrong, but Sammy just hasn't been herself for a couple
days. Just lays around, and hardly moves. She is eating, drinking, and
using the litter box, her eyes look bright, doesn't feel too warm, but
it's very unusual for my playful girl to lay around. Yesterday, when I
got out the collars she didn't even come to the door to wait for it to
be put on. She did eventually come out to join LB and me, but just
laid down instead going exploring or hunting through the flowerbeds.
She seemed a little better today when we went out, she walked around a
bit, but she didn't give her usual complaints when I brought her back
inside, and as soon as she came in she jumped up on the bed to take a
nap.
I made a TED appointment, but the earliest opening is Thursday
afternoon. Guess I'm just asking for some purrs that she'll be back to
normal soon.

Purrs for Sammy. Maybe just a hairball?

That's what I was wondering and/or maybe constipation? That can really make
kitties feel poorly, too. Will she take Laxatone or something like it?
Also, any possibility she might be dehydrated? I used to have to give
fluids to my CRF kitties and if they were in need of extra fluids I could
tell by pulling up the loose skin at the top of their neck -- if it fell
back slowly when I released the skin then I knew they needed some hydration.
In any case, many purrs for her!

Thanks for the suggestions and purrs. It may just be wishful thinking
on my part, but she seems a little better today. Monday she didn't
even look up when I got up and went in the other room, and usually she
has to escort me and supervise whatever I do. Yesterday she at least
watched me, and this morning she sat up to watch and actually followed
a couple times. Still a long way from normal, she doesn't even come
running when I open a soda - which is very unlike her, Even when she
doesn't want to play fetch she just HAS to smell the cap whenever I
open a bottle.
>> Purrs for Sammy. Maybe just a hairball?
Well since she's the only one of mine that doesn't like being brushed,
I suppose that's a definite possibility. I have some of that jelly
that you put on a paw to be licked off. Rocky used to be hurking up
hairballs all the time before he decided to let me brush him - he now
loves being brushed almost as much as LB. Think I'll dig some out of
the cupboard and give it a try.

Something else I hadn't considered. I know she SEEMS to be using the
box, but I suppose it could just be attempts and not actually
producing anything. She doesn't seem to be making more trips than
normal to the box, though, nor straining when she does go.
>Also, any possibility she might be dehydrated?
That's something I had thought of, and thanks to watching Animal
Planet vet and rescue shows I know about lifting the skin and watching
to see if it goes back to normal. Going from that simple test, she
seems hydrated. I know she's eating and drinking normally, because the
dishes are in plain view from both the computer desk and recliner,
when I'm home, and not asleep, I'm usually in one of those two places.

Or perhaps a storm is on its way. TuTu really "holes up" when a storm is
coming. Purrs for her wellbeing. MLB

This is just a cut and paste job from my answer to Karen and Christine

work.
