He (I think it's a he, but I can't really tell) isn't exactly
camera-shy... or shy at all! I feel like a catnapper for having taken
him in when he's obviously somebody's pet - but what was he doing out
in the alley all alone begging for attention? :(

Unfortunately, this is probably a tossed kitty.  Someone decided that
they didn't want him anymore, and just left him in the general area,
hoping that some stranger would take him in, or he'd at least get
run over so the person wouldn't have to bother with him anymore.
This poor baby is confused about why his people took him away from
his nice warm home and doesn't feed him anymore.  *sob*

There has to be a special place in Hell for people who do that.

That's exactly how I got Fin, except that he picked me up in the
parking lot of my own apartment complex - and he had been out for
awhile, so he was thin, but not diseased yet.

And again, Stormy, who ended up with my dentist's receptionist. Same
thing.

He's really cute. I hope you stick it out and try to find the owners or a
rescue. Scout and Silver really WILL calm down. Especially if you do. Talk
to them out loud about the situation because it will calm you and therefore
them. You can't just chuck him out again, that is for sure. But you can call
to rescues in the mean time. He is a kitten and that will up your chances
tremendously.

Oh, he's so pretty and cute! Hope you can integrate him peacefully
into your clan.

I go and look at all the kitty pics people post, because my own personal
mantra is that there can never be enough cute, you know?

But this guy - fabulous.  I really, really want him.  If I could have a
third cat, this would be my guy.

Whoever abandoned him should be shot.  Many times, in nonfatal places, so
they can feel the pain and bleed to death, slowly.

In science, 'fact' can only mean 'confirmed to such a degree that it
would be perverse to withhold provisional assent.' I suppose that apples
might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal
time in physics classrooms.

He's a very curious little guy... I have a feeling that he got out of
somebody's house and went to explore the Big Out and had no clue how
to find his way home... his fur doesn't even seem dirty and as far as
I can tell he even hasn't had time to pick up any fleas! (nothing's
bitten me anyway and I was cuddling him for an hour before I put him
in the carrier...) His ears and eyes are clean and bright and his coat
is glossy. He was VERY hungry though - he's eaten half a bowl of
kitten food since I brought him upstairs and that's a lot for a little
guy like that!
Right now he's curled up asleep in the carrier with his food and
water, and he seems quite contented :) I'm not at all sure how to tell
how old he is but I'm guessing about 16 weeks?

Might be an escapee, then again maybe not.  Persia was a little thin and
very hungry when she showed up at my back door.  She didn't have fleas and
her fur was shiny and sleek.  She'd obviously been someone's pet, but no one
reported her missing.  No one responded to the flyers I posted all around
the neighborhood.  I didn't see any other flyers posted about missing cats,
either.  If someone was desperately searching for her I never found any sign
of it.  Their loss, my gain :)

The gods work in mysterious ways.  I was meant be in every spot to rescue
( and I mean rescue ) my furballs and become a slave to the fur faced four
legged Gods.  Ain't it great

Well....is anyone flying from Florida to Chicago? We could pull together for
a pet travel fee.....

Whatever it is, it is beautiful with those copper eyes and a little pink
tongue showing.   What was it doing?  Trying to find you.   MLB

Absolutely beautiful; he's got that sleek, oriental look, part siamese maybe.
