I posted a little bit back about my friend KK's cat, Magic, who was
diagnosed with lymphoma.  KK e-mailed me the following today:

Hi Ginger-lyn,

Just wanted you to know - I took Magic in to Dr. Logue this AM
and she is gone.  She had not eaten on her own in days and days - like
almost a week, and I hadn't seen her drink anything either.  I had
force fed her some the last few days, and given her fluids, but then
had pooped on herself and just was laying around - although God love
her, never stopped purring.  I could not stand to see her like that
anymore.  She been a huge fluffy shiny black regal gorgeous animal and
to see her not grooming, not eating and just lying around was to see
an animal whose time was done. I talked to her and I talked to God,
and asked for guidance and this AM, I just knew.  She seemed hungry
and thirsty, but just stared at the food and drink - and then walked
over and just crawled into her basket and laid there.  I called Dr.
Logue this AM as soon as they opened at 8 and they said they could get
me in right in.

She purred up to the last moment.  I cried my eyes out but Dr.
Logue said he thought I had done the right thing too as there way no
way to know what those lymph nodes were doing where we could not see
or feel them.  It was so hard, but I think she purred to the last
minute because she knew I was doing what I was doing because I love
her.  Anyway, it is done and I feel like I have been run over by a
train.  I'd like to just stay home today and just lick my wounds, but
overall I know it would be better for me if I just went on into work
here in a bit and distracted myself.  This is the bane of loving an
animal.

Thank you for caring and thinking of me and Magic through all of
this.  I will write more in a day or so - I hope she is feeling free
and rolling in the sunshine now - her favorite activity.  I already
miss her so much.  She was with me way way too short of a time.

Any purrs for KK and for Magic's journey to the Bridge will be deeply
appreciated.

Sadly,

Ginger-lyn

Ginger-lyn,

Please pass my condolences on to KK. I'm so very sad to hear that. But it
was also undoubtedly the most loving thing she could have done for poor
Magic.

Purrs for Magic's journey to the bridge, and purrs for KK to
remember Magic's love for her and to heal the pain of loss.  KK
was very courageous for helping Magic on her way when it
was her time.

It was awfully sad!  I can imagine her staring at her food and water.
