I'm going out again to walk around and call him.
Baby Eyes has been acting very concerned, too. For the last week or so she
has been mothering him a lot and it's quite clear that she misses him. She
has been sticking close to me all day. She comes running as if by ESP
whenever I start thinking of Abelard and looks up at me with sad eyes. I
bend down to her and we touch foreheads then she rubs my nose with hers and
touches my cheek with her paw.
When I was walking earlier today with Tommy & Eli, one of Gloria's dogs was
watching us from the next field. Tommy & Eli were afraid to approach him and
just laid down by the fence. The dog was looking like he would give chase so
I caught him by the collar and held on until Tommy and Eli could cross the
field safely. I sure hope that dog did not catch and hurt Abelard.
I will post right away if he turns up.

We're back. This time Beatrice and Billy joined the search team (with Tommy
& Eli again) while Lily and Baby Eyes waited at the house. No sign of
Abelard.
I won't sleep well tonight.

No, I'm sure you won't, and I can't blame you. I assume that tomorrow you
will call your local shelter to see if he might have been picked up.

The closest shelter is 85 miles away - on the northwest side of Springfield.
I think it would be a waste to call there.

That Abelard's wanderings sure cause you a lot of worry. I do hope he
trurns up in good health ASAP! Purrs on the way, too.

We're adding our purrs and a rumble-y chorus of "Home Sweet
Home" for Abelard's ears. That boy just has a wanderlust,
doesn't he?
