Kreisleriana - 28 Sep 2004 19:49 GMT It's raining steadily outside, and I'm sitting inside with a nice thick book. My furry little buddy climbs into my lap, does some perfunctory prancing around, and settles down with a rumbling purr. <sigh>

Christine Burel - 28 Sep 2004 20:43 GMT Awwww, melt .... whatcha reading? I just finished reading some awesome fantasy books by Robin Hobb (Farseer Trilogy; The Tawny Man Trilogy; and Liveship Traders Trilogy) a couple of nights ago and I'm feeling the need to read something ... Christine

Then I put the book on his back and go on with Smokey as a bookrest.

At first I thought you were trying to say "until he bawls", but that didn't make sense! Why would you want to make your cat cry?
Anyway, it sounds like turnabout is fair play. At first, he's in your way, but later he becomes quite useful. :)

Why would you want to make your cat cry? Well, we have to let fresh air into the apartment sometimes....but I believe Smokey's reaction to "outside-ness" is another topic. (Oh God The Window's Open I Feel Wind Oh God Outside Is Gonna Come In And Get Me *cry, wail*)

Tish Silberbauer - 28 Sep 2004 22:44 GMT mmmm ... rain. I remember rain. I rained here once, long, long ago! (Sydney is experience its worst drought since records began)
Your picture of feline domestic bliss sounds wonderful.
What are you reading? (if that's not intrusive). I'm reading Ursula Le Guin's "Always Coming Home" which, for me, is like a meditation in book form. Very serene and beautiful.

We're awfully soggy.
And the snuggly lapkitty does sound lovely. :-)

My furry little buddy climbs into my lap, does some [quoted text clipped - 4 lines] > Stinky Pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/125591586JWEFwh > My Blog: http://www.humanitas.blogspot.com Perfect autumn experience! ALthough for me, the reality of cats in lap while attempting to read is anything but serene. Nina has adopted the true cat ethic which is "Mommy must NOT be permitted to read any book without my full and active participation. If I'm denied this, I will either poke at the book, or lie on it until she gives up." Ditto with reading in bed. Put a book down on the mattress, and Pan will obligingly come and lie on the open pates, and look at me lovingly. =o)
