Any candles to spare?

It's a year today since I had to have darling Pericles pts and the
memory and the loss are as painful as ever.

I'd like to think he wasn't being forgotten, so if you have a candle for
him it'd be appreciated.

His pics are up here:

Young Claudius continues to grow apace, now at 9 months he's up to 5.1
kilos (11 and a quarter pounds) which is nearly 2 lbs ahead of Bandit
and less than a pound behind Snowball, with whom the "rumbles" are now
very even indeed. Not content with single breakages the terror managed
to clear the entire contents of my draining board, smashing 1 wine
glass, 2 tea glasses, 1 plate, and 1 cereal bowl which was the very last
of the wedding present given to me by my late Aunt in the 1970's. He'd
dealt with the last but one as well :-(

But he's terribly affectionate between zoomies and redecorating
(wallpaper stripping up to stretch level isn't enough, he now jumps and
peels too). Which means he's forgiven everything.

Purrs to all who need them, especially those who've lost a dear master.

Gordon, Bandit, Snowball, Claudius, and Raki ("I know my place") the
D-pet.

As long as Sammy lives, and as long as I live, Pericles will *NOT* be
forgotten.  The whole house will be lit with candles tonight.

It's always sad to remember the loss, but we like to take comfort in the
good memories.

After I lost both of my parents to illness in 2001, less than six
months apart, I was helped in part by a quotation from Marjory
Allingham, in her novel _The Tiger in the Smoke_:

"Mourning is not forgetting . . . It is an undoing. Every minute tie
has to be untied and something permanent and valuable recovered and
assimilated from the knot. The end is gain, of course. Blessed are
they that mourn, for they shall be made strong, in fact. But the
process is like all other human births, painful and long and
dangerous."

We have lit a candle for all the dear ones who have passed on to the RB this
weekend. Of course, Pericles was part of it. It'll get easier as the years
go by and all we will remember are the good times. I still mourn Jazz but,
like your Claudius, my Lily has eased the pain a lot.

What a gorgeous cat! He really was a beautiful boy.

Loved those shots of he and Bandit in the box.

Pericles will _never_ be forgotten, I will light a candle for him and all
the, far too many, other cats that have crossed the bridge in the last year.

I will remember Pericles in my candle-lighting tonight.

Of course, Gordon.  A remembrance candle will be lit at dusk

I have lit a purple candle for Pericles tonight and have been surprised what
a huge flame it had and how it burned so brightly.

He was a beutiful catman and he will not be forgotten. {{{Gordon}}} It's
two months since Frank went the way of Pericles, and it seems that only
now am I starting to realise he is really gone.

Caliban keeps it up just behind Claudius; at the beginning of January
when he was nearly 9 months old, he weighed 4.8 kilos. I'm taking him in
for the final ringworm test this month, we'll see what he weighs then.

Caliban is exactly the same, except luckily I don't have wallpaper. Very
very affectionate.

Farewell, dear Pericles. You may be gone, but you are assuredly NOT
forgotten.  Hugs to you, Gordon. Losing a beloved animal is indeed a
tremendous emptiness in the heart.
