Does anyone have any suggestions for slowing a hyperactive hoolikitten
down? Lily has had kitten greebling zoomies for the last hour and she
shows no sign of slowing down. She's going mental - she's killed all the
papers on my desk - twice, she's been up the curtains, she's beaten up
the dog, she's dug up the litter box and flung the litter everywhere,
she's trashed the toilet roll....She's driving us all nuts! Things have
got so bad that even HRFL Tiger is hissing at her!
Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful that she feels so hyper and well
after everything she's been through, but my god! If I had 1/2 her energy
I would have taken over the world by now!!!
The only thing I can think of that comes close, is that she reminds me
of a hyperactive child running around the house screaming and yelling in
play.
HELP!!! ;o)

IMHO you need a quiet space -- perhaps a kennel where she can be placed
for a cooling off period. Does catnip perk her up or calm her down? If
it calms her, try the kennel with a little'nip. MLB

Catnip.
Our stoners wolf it down, then spend the rest of the day staring
through time at things only they can see.

I have to agree with catnip. She might be psych'd at first but then she'll
just mellow out and be like "dude, listen to the music" Take a walk on the
wild side... ;)

Isn't Lily too young for catnip to have an effect?

Patience. Give her time. She'll calm down in the next ten years or so ;-)

Shouldn't that read mostly calm down? Snoopy still occasionally gets the
zoomies, and she's 16 next month. ;-)

Spicey would go really crazy sometimes attacking everything that moves,
more than the zoomies. We put her in the laundary room for 5-10 min.
Believe it or not this was enough to calm her down.

When Kayla does this (daily) we put her down for a nap just like we would a
barekitten.
But that is one advantage of having a dog crate.
