This is such a bad idea on so many levels - the main one being
encroachment on other predators' niches.  Why not start designating
sanctuaries within and outside of FL where they can live untouched?

Here is the real root of the problem:

"State and federal officials designated 600,000 acres of privately
owned land in Lee, Collier and Hendry counties as prime habitat for the
panther in the early 1990s, but that area has seen a drastic rise in
development.

Officials have allowed people to build throughout the panther habitat,
granting permits for a new university, new churches, roads, golf
courses and subdivisions."

Unfortunately greed and money will lead to the extinction of this
awesome animal.

I agree L    I moved to where I am at for the wildlife refuge that is being
my property I see occasionally a pair of them almost daily.   Moving them
out to let them breed  and then brining them back would probably have no
habitat to come back to.  the wildlife refuge is there because of them, a
pair of bald eagles and a shrub jays
