I had a cat flap installed in the kitchen dooor today. Now I'm up to 5
cats, and the spring and summer are coming, I figured it was only fair
to the mogs for them to be able to go out during the day.

You have NEVER seen such excitement! Robbie, Lily and Tiger all
supervised Martin the guy who came to put the cat flap in. The minute he
had finished, everyone had to try it out.
In...out...in...out....in...out...

All I can hear is flap...flap....flap....

It's going to drive me nuts!

Your crew is very smart! Over here it took a bit of coaching to get the
cats to use the flap the first time.

They've all used one before, with the exception of Lily.

I took a cat flap to Belize so that they could go into their outside
enclosure easily and safely. I showed it to my Belizean handyman who was
a first baffled as to what it was, and then highly amused by the fact I
would want a flap in my door for the cat. I think he showed that cat
flap with a demo of how it worked to every guy in the village. If they
didn't have it before, that catflap was proof that gringas from England
were certifiably nuts. But then I could have told him that!;o)

Same here, though I think it was just an act to keep the hoomin to act
as doorman. I have it in the screen door and it's only accessible when
I'm out on the patio, since they only get to go out when I'm there to
supervise. When I first put it in they would meow at the door, and if
I ignored them they would eventually emerge. At first I thought they
were having trouble learning to use it - then one day something
startled them and both LB and Sammy darted through it to get inside.

Snoopy thinks the proper use of a cat flap is to keep rattling it until her
hoomin opens the door. ;-)

Just wait until a playful kitty runs through the flap at full speed. The
noise it makes then is akin to an explosion.

When Ranger and Harri take turns chasing each other through the flap I get
treated to BAM-BAM.... BAM-BAM.... BAM-BAM....

I had one cat who would sit inside the flap and bat it shut
every time one of the others tried to come inside!

Reminds me of Stinky's and Dante's inside/outside the bathroom door
games.  Stinky likes to come into the bathroom with me, but apparently
it is no good if Dante comes in, too.  At the same time, the door may
not be closed.  So Stinky comes into the bathroom with me, I leave the
door open a crack, and this is enough for Dante to stick his nose in,
and for Stinky to vigorously biff said nose through said crack in
door.

LOL!  Going to help meowmie in the bathroom is a very serious thing.  Boyfie
just *has* to "help" me every time and if Kitty appears he gets quite
annoyed.
It is apparently essential to him to wipe himself round my legs when I am on
the toilet.  He thinks it helps.

Snoopy _always_ accompanies me to the bathroom, it must be very satisfying
for her knowing she's doing a good job because she's always purring when
she's in there.

Tabitha loves to do that! Nancy and I will be sitting in the living room
reading and hear "whap... whap... whap...". I'll take a look and see
Tabitha in the kitchen, sitting in front of the flap, hitting it whenever
someone starts to push it open.

But now, the cats can do their "In?" "Out?" "In?" "Out?" thing without
having to involve you! That must be a relief!

At the moment, because HRFL is the only one allowed out without
supervision (for the time being) the cat flap is on *IN* only. so... to
go out, we have *HOWWWWWWWL* Whap, whap whap... and mommy (a.k.a. me)
has to get up and let Tiger out. It's a relief not having to leave the
door open though.
