Purrs for John

His friend Larry is taking him for a colonoscopy at 9:30 in the morning.  He
was not allowed to eat for 24 hours.  John suffers from and has been
hospitalized twice for diverticulitus and we hope he doesn't have to have
surgery to cut out part of his intestine.

I need some purrs for his scope to come out saying he does not need surgery
for the diverticulitis, please.

Persia, meanwhile, is having a happy time with me back home.  She has no
idea (yet) that I'm going to drop her off back at the vet in 9 days and that
John is asking me to check into being gone even longer... from the Highland
show he wants to see if I can just drive on to Houston with him and fly back
from there.  Hmmm.

Persia?  You are gonna get extra cuddles because you might be in that smelly
place for a couple of weeks this time.  We shall see; I may not do that to
you but sweetie, you just never know.

Purrs for John, I hope he's ok and doesn't need surgery.  No eating
for 24 hours?  Eeeek!  I'd have expired 21 hours ago.  Gotta eat every
3 hours or I get major growly stomach and weak.  My sincere
sympathies...
Vino sends purrs for Persia too.  He knows what it's like for his
hoomins to constantly take off.  He stays in the house, but it's still
really boring.  I feel so guilty every time we go away.  And we're
going away from Oct. 9-25 :-(

Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's
covered in fur!

Sending purrs for John's colonoscopy to be negative and that he won't
need surgery.

I've had diverticulitis, and believe me it's NOT fun!

Purrs coming that all goes well with John's colonoscopy and that he doesn't
need surgery.

Houston??!!  Any possibility that you can visit me - or that I could come to
the airport to see you?  I don't live very far from Intercontinental (but
Hobby is across town).

Purrs that Persia will get used to the boarding and that she'll forgive you
quickly.

Yeah, maybe we could hook up!  Could be I'll just drive down from Highland,
IL with him - was a cheap fare so really wouldn't be a bother skipping the
fly back to Memphis for only two days and adding a one way ticket back to
Memphis from Houston Bush or Houston Hobby.  Houston must be a seriously
large place to have multiple airports.

Persia did an upside-downey-head and exposed her belly for rubbing; her
shaved fur from her surgery has grown back in and she had her front paws
tucked up... too cute!  I didn't get the camera in time to capture this.

It's a *very* large city - very sprawled out.  Actually, it has three
airposts - Ellington Field plus Bush plus Hobby, but nobody really flys out
of Ellington Field, it's more for private planes.

It would be so kewl if we could meet - I have a *very* large house if you
need a place to stay.  Email me and we can make arrangements.

Just don't bring any wild mongrels who run wild and aren't house
trained ;-) Not that I think a converted dog person such as Jill would
have such a wild d*g, not after hearing her stories of Samson

Purrs on the way for no surgery, and for Persia to remain ignorant of
the impending trip as long as possible. I'd send purrs for Peaches as
well, but sounds like she accepts boarding better than Persia.

Eek, poor John! I sure hope it's not bad enough for surgery. I don't
actually know what diverticulitis is, but I do know that surgery is no
fun at all. Purrs for a negative result from the test!

He doesn't have the test results back yet but they couldn't complete this at
the local clinic.  I won't get into the gory details but he had to be driven
to a hospital where they could finish the procedure.  They gave him morphine
at the clinic but he said at the hospital they didn't give him *anything*...
and as well you can imagine this is not a pleasant procedure.  As Sam noted,
You're going to put that WHERE?  OUCH.

I talked with my Mom the morning he was going to have this done.  She said
oh, she's had a couple of them and also has diverticulitis.  How come I
didn't know this?  Persia's bladder problems were caused by a cyst the vet
described as similar to diverticulitus.  And hell, I have diverticulosis,
which is to say a milder form of diverticultis.  Hmmmm.  All in the family?

Anyway, I think the purrs worked even if he didn't get the good drugs for
the real deal (You're going to put that WHERE?).  We just have to wait to
hear the test results.

Purrs that he doesn't need surgery.  The procedure does sound
uncomfortable.  I thought that orifice was one-way?  Oh, oops, no
offense to some members of the group - it's definitely two way, yes,
two-way.  Please forgive me, I'm too sheltered. :)
