Today DH and I met Jet at Yowie's parents' place and decided to bring
him home.  He has the sweetest personality and seems to purr every
time one of us pays him attention.  His purr sounds like a steam train
at rest - a gentle chuffing sound.

He is, naturally enough, somewhat unsettled with being in a new place
with the smells and sounds of resident cats and d*gs.  We are keeping
them all separate at the moment - alternating access to areas, and
will introduce them once Jet has settled down a bit.

Jet will stay with us for a couple of weeks until I can get him to a
vet check and until I can arrange to drive him down to my father's
place - a two day drive away.

He is lovely and will make a wonderful companion to my father.

We feel very fortunate to have also had the opportunity to meet
Yowie's furry family - Schmogg, IBKFergus and Fluffy.  Schmogg deigned
to allow us both to stroke him, as did Fergus.  Fluffy was very unsure
of us to begin with, but quickly decided we were useful for scritches.

Schmogg is a wonderful, *big* lion of a cat.  In attitude he reminded
me of our old cat Ted.  He is the undisputed ruler of that household
and is confident and comfortable in that role.

IBK is all charm and evil intent.  I was surprised how petite she is,
but can see the trouble-causing gleam in her eye.  She and Cary seem
to have come to some kind of arrangement and, if I were Yowie, I'd be
scared, very scared.  Fluffy, of course, is a sweetie.

That is very good to hear. :-) I shall look forward to reading about how he
gets on with your father, I bet he'll rule with an iron paw.

That is wonderful! I was worried about how he was going to do, living
outside until your dad was ready to take him. He looks and sounds like
such a sweet cat, I wonder if your dad will have any difficulty taking
him home when he *is* ready. :)

Thank you for being so generous and helping out a needy kitty.

Tish, bless your heart for giving Jet a chance at finding a forever home. We
will purr and pray that he and your Dad find happiness together really
quickly.

May blessings from the One who runs everything rain on Yowie,
you all, and your father as well for your caring and mercy to
this cat.

This is absolutely fantastic news.  What a newsgroup this is!! and what a
lucky cat Jet is that he turned up somewhere so that something could be
arranged for him to have a onetruehome with a man who is missing the love of
a cat.  It gives me MMS.

Strange that, it affects Apple and Linux machines as well as Microsoft.

Wonderful update, thanks!  It's funny that Schmogg has grown Ted-like
over all these years, and Jet sounds like a great companion.
