Much to my surprise, my allegedly cat-hating brother in law now has a
cat.

Dylan (25) has two brothers, Daniel (22) and Dorian (19).  Daniel moved
to BC this week and his girlfriend Fallon plans to follow him across
the country.  Fallon is a ditz and doesn't want to take her two cats to
BC.  So, one night at the bar she asked Dorian if he wanted a cat.  He
made some kind of drunken noise and he woke up with Butternuts, whom he
promptly renamed Barry Burton after a character in RESIDENT EVIL.

Barry is only four months old, white with orange markings and a
beigy-orange chin and "bracelet" around one leg.  He's a total lovebug
and licked me repeatedly!

Although Dorian at first asked if anyone else wanted Barry, the two
seem to have reached an understanding.  Dorian is seeking a new
apartment and he is informing his future roommates that he has a cat,
so it seems Barry will have a home with him.  He has a job and has
provided Barry with kitten chow and a litterbox.  Still, I would like
some purrs for Barry, just because taking in a cat after a night at a
bar is not the ideal adoption situation.

Dorian's father's cat is EXCEEDINGLY aggressive and hates EVERYONE save
Mr. Blacquiere...even *I* don't like this cat.  She isn't declawed and
I can't think of any other reason she seeks the blood of everyone she
sees.  I suspect much of Dorian's cat-hating comes from being bitten,
clawed, kicked, by Skitty every day he lived in his dad's house.  His
mom is still regularly woken up by the cat attacking her.

I would also like some purrs for Fallon's other cat Heimi.  She tried
to give me and Dylan Heimi this weekend.... She has 3 months before her
move and I hope she finds a real home for Heimi, not the shelter.   I
don't want to hate someone who may become a sister-in-law but I was
constantly fighting the urge to slap her for treating her pets as
disposable.
