I'm sure trying to pill a cat is something we've all experienced and
had a hard time with.
But this is a new one.
Arthur has asthma, and has to take Prednisone once a day. Now, I
always pill the cats right before feeding (which you should do with
Pred, anyway), and Internet always fights me. But Arthur is a
different story.
Arthur, you may recall, is my shoulder-sitting cat. He *loves* to get
up on my shoulder and sit there and headbutt me, even riding around on
my shoulder if I go walking about the apartment.
At any rate, I get out Arthur's pill for the first meal of the day and
call him. "Arthur!" He shows up, jumps up on the couch, and waits.
I pet him, open his mouth, slide the pill down his throat, and he rubs
me or jumps up on my shoulder and purrs!
I don't know if he's grateful knowing the pill helps him, or if he's
just glad it's feeding time!

Gads! I wish Jessie were that easy. If she needs pills for this current
ailment I think I'll take a ride to PetsMart and see about getting some pill
pockets.
