LOL! Great pictures!  For some reason, squirrels don't excite Rita
all that much, but I have seen (or rather, heard) her bump into the
window to catch a bird.  More than once.

Well right now she playing Miss Sarah Heartburn, licking at her legs
pitiably hoping to get even more treats than I'd already given her!  ;>

Oh wow - kitty Reality TV! :)

Years ago when I lived in a different apartment with a balcony, I used
to let Smudge hang out there, and she'd perch on the wooden railing, which
was about 6" wide, just right for her, and watch the world (of our apartment
complex, that is) go by. One time there was a squirrel perched on a low
tree branch not too far away, and the two of them were facing off in a
fierce staring contest. The squirrel was grey, and so is Smudge, and they
both had very fluffy tails, which were each whipping back and forth with
great speed and force, but in opposite directions. They looked more alike
than either would want to, I'm sure!

I knew Sammy was big, but to see her from behind like that next to
little Jessie is just amazing. Wow.

Yeah, her size continually amazes me.  I always thought my Bandit was a big
cat - and at close to 10 pounds I guess she is.  But Sammy dwarfs even
Bandit.  It's not just, um, fluff either.  Her bones are so much bigger than
the other cats.

What's so funny is that she's still afraid of Jessie as if she were still a
tiny kitten.  Jessie is always beating her up when they play!  ;>

Rhett is like that with Shamrock, too. And Rhett is much larger than
Shamrock. It's almost as if he still "thinks" of Shamrock as mom. Oh,
they have their moments of rough-housing, but when Rhett wants
attention, he doesn't usually come to me. He goes to Shamrock or
Bonnie for a face lick. And, he's pretty pushy about getting some
face.  ;)

I remember reading about how he "leans" on them for attention!  ;>

Do your girls chirp when they look at squirrels? Fez and Rufous make the
cutest noised when having a "showdown" with a squirrel. :)

Boots chatters at the squirrels. She has a ''history" with one of them.
Earlier in the winter, she was after it, and it would go higher and
higher in the tree, then dangle down and "bark" at her. She sure got
huffy about it.

No outside cat, just the squirrel sitting on the railing - and a couple of
shots of Sammy trying to get outside by climbing behind the curtains.

Ah, I know what you're seeing - that's Jessie's reflection in the brass kick
plates on the bottom of the door (they got shined during my cleaning
marathon).

Oh, ok that makes sense.  It looked so much like there was a cat outside
looking in at Jessie and Sammy.  I thought it was strange because the
cat should have been looking at the squirrel ;-)

Yeah, Rob noticed that too.  He wants you to come up and watch me clean the
house.

Story about that:

Rob's dad used to invite his BIL over to "watch" him do something, usually
to do with heavy lifting or mechanical ability.  Loyd would inevitability
end up doing a good portion of the job.  The family now says that they want
someone to come over and watch them work when they mean for the person to
either help with, or do, a job.

LOL, yep I would be glad to if I lived close enough!  I clean when I get
bored, and having ADHD I get bored very easily!  ;>

Rob can't get over how much Miss Sammy looks like our QC.  He said that if
he'd seen a picture of just Sammy, he'd have thought it was the Cooch.

As I was just telling Barry, even more squirrels have discovered the bowl of
dry cat food on the deck, and now there is sometimes 5 or 6 of them up there
eating and making J & S crazy with their succulent and delicious appearance.

Oh they would have *loved* to play with the squirrel, Barry.  However, I
don't think the squirrel would have had much fun!   J & S are at the door
again this morning (and every morning) thinking how succulent and delicious
those squirrels look!  ;>  Even more squirrels have discovered the bowl of
dry cat food I keep on the deck and now we have up to 5 at a time chowing
down up there and teasing the cats just on the other side of the glass!
