That's right, four years ago today we brought home UNE NOCTURNE.
It started on January 8, 2002. We'd seen an ad in our building seeking
a home for a kitten found abandoned in the hallway--but when we
answered it, we found out that the kitten in question hadn't been
abandoned, but accidentally got out during her owners' weekend visit to
family. They had reclaimed her. Dylan was really disappointed and so
was I, since we'd just had The Talk about being ready to take on the
responsibility of our first pet together. So I offered to take him to
the humane society the next day.
On Jan 9 we had interviews and on Jan 10 we were able to take our dark
lady home!

Many happy Nocturnniversaries!
Ins't it lovely when you first bring them home? I remember carrying
Redunzel and Sarrasine home and I couldn't stop looking at them in the
carrier. I was as nervous as they come- the lady who had their mum
lived the other side of London and was proposing she would bring them
into work and I could pick them up as long as I got there for 2.30. I
thought "They'll have been woken up at 5.30, taken from their mum and
siblings, driven in a car etc etc" so I turned up at 9.00. Then I had
to get a bus and then there was a long journey on the Central Line. Now
that is noisy, smelly and scary to me and I am used to it so I was
really worried about them...Three stops out they stopped moving and I'm
thinking "OMG! The shock might have killed them". Nope they were
settling down for a snooze.
I wish I had had a camera through, a few minutes later the train shook
and there was a nasty squealing noise from the rails. This caused
Sarrasine a few nervous moments and she jumped up. Redunzel simply put
a paw on her and gave her a wash. It was soooo cute!
Then they slept all the way home

Concatulations on your anniversary. Have you ever regretted it?

never once. not when her spay went wrong, not when she ate the cactus,
not even when she walked up to me in my sleep and bit me on the face
for no reason (much to Dylan's amusement)
