I wondered where Scouty had gone because I hadn't seen her in about an
hour... so I opened my closet door and she was sitting in the corner
under my dresses! She must have walked in when I had the door open to
put my shoes away in the shoe rack and she was so quiet that I didn't
see her... she didn't scratch or whine or try to get out - she just
sat there and waited until I opened the door, and then she walked out.
Poor little girl...
(she looked at me as if to say 'hey, I don't mind - it was dark and
quiet and peaceful in there and there weren't any scary strange
workmen to run away from!)
The poor cats have been semi-hysterical for the last two days because
of the workmen who are renovating our bathroom and making lots of
noise and going in and out and in and out of the apartment... they
slink around the apartment with their tummies touching the ground (the
cats that is, not the workmen!) and their tails between their legs,
darting from chair to couch to table - any place they can hide!
They're too scared to go into their bathroom during the daytime to eat
or drink, so they're very hungry too... poor little things! This
afternoon Silver came into the craftroom to see me and she was so
thirsty that she tried to drink out of my half-empty cup. I tipped a
little water into my palm and she lapped it up and looked for more -
she must have drunk 25 little handfuls of water and when it dripped
off my hand onto the desk she lapped that up too! (can you say
sucker?!) If she was that thirsty I was pretty sure Scouty would be
too, only she won't eat from my hand, so I got a saucer of water and
put it into the corner of my craftroom, and also a saucer of kitten
kibble - we have a pile left over from feeding Minnie while her owners
were out of town, and since the cats are under stress and not eating
much I thought it would be good for them. They liked it and they've
eaten half the saucer between them... I'll just keep food in here for
them tomorrow too, and the bathroom should be basically finished by
thursday.

My guys freak out when there's someone working in my house, too.
Except Shamrock. He loves everyone, and especially loves to
supervise. If they have to use a flashlight, even better! Hehehe
Soothing purrs for calm nerves till the work is done!

Stinky, too! Stinky is the workmen/delivery guy's best pal. He loves
to supervise. He once sniffed an electrician right where the tool
belt effect was showing, if you get my meaning, hehehe. The guy hit
the ceiling, but was a good sport about it. ;)

Rita tries to climb into their tool belts. She just LOVES company,
especially men.

Poor kitties! You're a good slave to give Silver water by hand. How
thirsty!

LOL!! I'm glad you explained that. I was thinking, "Boy the contractors
in Florida sure hire some INTERESTING workers!" =o)

Poor Silver and Scout, strange people bringing strange smells and a
lot of loud noises and a disrupted routine sounds like a stressful
event for any pussycat. I hope the work is completed on time so that
they can relax, again. =o)

Thats funny Karen, Wilson sits, or should I say sleeps under my
clothes too but he does it purposefully, I always used to close the
sliding doorbut now I have to leave it open a little bit so he can
get in, and he sleeps on a hold-all I keep in there. Hugs Jean.
