Miss Chloe and Miss Pua have finally called a truce!  I was sitting in bed,
reading, this morning, with Miss Chloe sitting next to me.  Since Miss Pua
can't be anywhere but in the same room with me, of COURSE she jumped on the
bed.  There was some crouching going on between both, tails flicking, BIG
eyes, a little growling, but Miss Pua took the initiative and went ahead and
licked Chloe's ears, they touched noses, Pua licked Chloe's tail...........

Ever since then, they can actually be in the same room together.  This has
never happened without a hiss!  6 months it's taken!

It's awesome.  I had to share.  Finally.  Peace.

Yep!  And they've sat side-by-side in front of the the screen door, on
lizard patrol since, as well.  This is so amazing.

Nico would like to be friends with Laku, has even tried to wash Laku's
face and ears, but Laku won't hear of it. I *so* wish Laku would come
around and they could be bestest buddies...

THat seems to be the way of it here.  Dante has looked up to Stinky
since he got here.  He mainly wants to play, but Stinky wants none of
it.  Dante does pester Stinky, but it's not in an aggressive way, it's
more of a frolicky way.  But Dante is much bigger now, and when he
jumps around, the --well-- the effect is bigger. ;)

LOL! Reminds me of Rhett. Difference is that Shamrock and Rhett get
along great. Though, sometimes Rhett just plays too rough, even for
Shamrock, and Shamrock has had enough of him. The funny part is that
Rhett still walks up to Bonnie and Shamrock expecting to get his face
licked. Most of the time he gets his wish, but sometimes he's
ignored. Then he'll just lean his whole big body into whichever one's
attention he's trying to get, and just literally knock them over.  ;)

Yep, same here. Nico is actually bigger than Laku, even tho he's about 4
years younger.

You should have seen him today. We have this narrow (about 30cm / 1 ft
wide) set of drawers, onto which both kitties jump when they want to
look out the back door window. Nico was up on it, looking at Laku
meatloafing on the floor. He moved to the corner, moved his head up and
down to estimate the distance and *flung* himself about one metre / a
yard and bits outwards, landing right behind Laku, said DH Janne, who'd
seen it all. I actually thought he'd landed on top of Laku, but I didn't
see the actual landing. Laku sure gave him an earful as well as bapped
him around the ears for that stunt. :D

Awww! I wonder if world peace could be achieved if people would just
lick each other's ears?

Congrats on peace in your home, at least!

Congrats, hope this is the beginning of a life-long friendship. I
noticed when I brought Spot into the mix here that with some cats it
takes a LOT longer than others. Sammy and Spot spent a couple weeks
hissing at each other, but after a month they got along fairly well,
and now they often play and groom each other. With LB, though, it's
taking much longer, and she still mostly avoids Spot. A week or two
back I saw her grooming Spot, but so far that was a one time
occurance, and she's back to avoiding Spot.

Purrs that your two follow Sammy and Spot's example rather than LB's.

I'd hope too, Britta.  I can't imagine having only 1 cat, but integrating
Miss Pua's been quite a task!   Chloe is Tyrone's biological sister and as
such, she feels like she's co-top cat.  (Tyrone is obviously the alpha
male.)  Miss Pua has a rather dominant personality, so she and Chloe were
sparring for the next position in line this entire time.  I guess they
finally figured it out.  I don't know who's the alpha female, yet, because
this is so new, but I'm assuming Chloe is.  But then again, as I say this,
Chloe's on the floor below Pua who is on the recliner........so?????  Still,
even them being *this* close to each other is amazing.

Marina, I can't tell you how happy this has made me.  I worry every time I
leave the house that there's gonna be a whoop-*ss beating.  I think it's
okay now!

The funny thing is-- I can't be sure, unless I get a kitty cam-- but I
have a strong suspicion that they mostly leave each other alone when
I'm out of the house, and they do most of the scrapping for my
benefit.

I'mp pretty sure how it is with the tension between Spot and LB, too.
Pretty much all their tiffs come when I first come in. Spotty gets
really excited and starts zooming around, she gets too close to LB and
Lb hisses and runs, then the chase is on. I think Spotty thinks of it
as a game like she plays with Sammy. Unfortunately, LB doesn't like to
play tag, so it turns into a hissy fight. Luckily, it has never
degenerated into an actual fight, just hiss and swats but I've never
seen anyone actually hit anyone. It probably helps that Sammy usually
investigates the hissing, and she does like to play tag. So most of
Spot and LB's hissy fights turn into chase games between Sammy and
Spot.

I know what you mean. When I first got Miranda, and then when I got
Caliban, I always worried the first days when I had to leave the new cat
with the established ones. That's why I brought them home when I had a
few days off work, so I could stay home for the most part and monitor
their behaviour. But they all integrated so beautifully, with a lot of
hissing and growling but hardly any physical contact (Nikki started
slapping Miranda after a couple of weeks, just to keep her in check when
she got too bouncy). Of course, they were both kittens when they first
entered the household, and kittens are easier to integrate.
