My sister in law could use some purrs for one of her cats. She has
two brothers, beautiful, sweet and lovable black cats about three
years old.
One of them has a fetish for cords. Power cords, speaker cords, mouse
cords... He has effectively made half the electronics in the house
useless.
So Gayle is trying to rehome him or find a no-kill shelter. If
necessary, she will let the brothers go together, to make the
transition easier.
In her own words, "I don't think his chewing habits deserve a death
sentence."
Gayle lives in North Central Dallas, Texas.
We already have a house full, so we are unable to help.
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

And rehoming him will solve the cord fetish problem how? He'll still do
it just for somehow else. I guess they have never thought of cord covers
or conduits. Perhaps they should try that before they give up.
Purrs that the problem be resolved WITHOUT rehoming him.

That was my reaction. There are cord covers available -- some to blend in
with walls or carpeting and others just to be purely functional and protect
or hide the cords. My two cats really are my "babies," and I cannot
conceive of giving either one of them up for any reason.

Yep, she's tried conduits and bitter apple, but the cat actually
likes bitter apple, and has become a dab hand at pulling wires out of
conduits.
Gayle just hasn't the patience or endurance to deal with this, so
she's looking to rehome.
It doesn't fix the problem, but she hopes that new slaves will be
better able to fix it than she is.
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

I hope so. Sometimes it just takes a different combination of personalities
between masters and owners to do the trick.

Lots of Purrs for the brothers, I think they would be better
together too. Purrs for your sister-in-law Mark Jean and Wilson.

Oh gosh, that's heartbreaking. Has she tried bitter apple, tubes around the
cords, etc.?
Purrs that the little guy finds or keeps his onetruehome.
