Refusing food

Sesame spent a day with TED last week and has been pretty quiet ever since.
She was having her blood pressure taken, and last time they took it they had
a lot of trouble finding a pulse so they asked us to leave her there for the
day this time. She seemed a bit stressed out after this.

She is on some new medication now as her blood pressure was found to be
high, and has not been eating much. Today she is refusing her kidney food.
She ate a tiny bit of tuna but I am hesitant to give her too much. I've
tried heating the food, tried hand feeding her and putting tuna juice on it
but nothing is making that food very appealing to her.

I'm going to go to another vet (that is open till 10pm on a Sunday,
amazing!) and get a different brand of food to see if she will eat that one.
Failing that, I found a homeopathic association website suggesting feeding
fresh raw/lightly fried chicken. I'm not sure how good for her that will be
but I guess if she eats it then thats the most important thing.

Some purrs would be appreciated for this kitty to get her appetite back.

Thanks
Kathryn

Purrs are on the way.  You're right.  It's better for her to eat something
than nothing.

Lots of purrs that this is just a temporary glitch and she is well soon.

While you're there, ask about appetite stimulants.  There are a
couple generally effective ones, but I can never remember their
names.

Purrs for Sesame. Have you tried baby food?

Purrs that Sesame will start feeling better and get her appetite back.
There is a drug that will stimulate her appetite, you might talk to your vet
about that.  Also, try some meat baby food (without onions), if you can't
get her to eat anything else.

I'm sorry Sesame is not doing well, Kathryn.  Purrs that her appetite
will increase pronto.
