Hello,
Today my daughter told me she's pregnant.  She miscarried the first baby
last year.
When you have a spare moment, would you please, from time to time, send her
some purrs for a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby?
Thanks,
Annie
BTW, this one should be due around my birthday.  I couldn't think of  a
better present.

Yikes!  I think we are safe because we don't have any twins on our side of
the family, and I don't think our son-in-law has any on his side either.
If the baby is a boy and takes after his father, who is very long and
skinny, there will be enough knees and elbows in there to feel like twins.

My daughter has shown amazing strength, and we are looking forward to a
better result this time.

My first daughter was born on my sister's birthday.  My sister's first
grandchild was born the day after my birthday.

Funny when b-days are so clumped up like that.  My mom and her
brother's birthday are on the same day - they were born 4 years
apart.  Eric was born 1 day before my Mom's birthday, and my mom's
birthday is her and my dad's wedding anniversary.  :)

Jim and I were married three days after his birthday.

We might have done it on his birthday, but three days later was when he
could get leave to be there.

Ben's birthday is May 31, and in 1993, the year we were married, Memorial
Day happened to fall on the 31st - so we were a triple threat that day!  ;>

The pregnant daughter's birthday is the same date but different year than
her husband's birthday.

If the first pregnancy had gone to term, there would have been a chance that
all three of them would have shared a birthday.

that results in a perfectly healthy, beautiful baby.

Well, then, congratulations are in order!  Of course Annie, many
purrs for a healthy pregnancy and birth. Now you're going to have to
go back home from your trip for that!

We expect to be coming out of the Great Lakes via Chicago about the time the
baby is due.
I'll be coordinating with the other grandmother so that we can be a help and
not a bother.
I guess Jim will have to find somebody else to help crew the boat while I'm
gone, unless he just can't resist going with me.

Jean,
I see you loud and clear.  Well, maybe clearly but not loud.

Thank you for your kind words.  I also had a miscarriage, but it was my
second pregnancy.  I think it is never easy, but it was encouraging to me to
know that I already had a perfect, healthy little girl, even if I was never
able to have more children.

It would have been harder if it were my first try.

But, I got lucky the third try, and now have had the privilege and pleasure
to raise two daughters.

I know she will be a wonderful mother and I hope she will have the
opportunity.

Sorry if you get a message with no reply.  I got distracted and clicked the
send before adding the reply.

What I wanted to say is that it will be great to see real trees and
mountains again, regardless of the weather.  We may be up there the first
week of February because of my father's health.  We expect to be really cold
then, but September usually has beautiful weather, which is when I should be
performing new grandma duties.
