Can a (mostly) lurker request some purrs?

First, please allow me to introduce myself.  I'm a Bostonian who shares a
1-bedroom condo with a 15-year-old orange and white Japanese Bobtail named
Peter.  That's us in Allston, MA, on the RPCA map.  Peter adopted me 14
years ago after his previous owners dumped him at the MSPCA shelter,
probably because he was a tad rambunctious.  I've posted a few times
previously, about Peter's love of being vacuumed and about his
hyperthyroidism, which was cured when he was injected with radioactive
iodine.

Anyway . . . on to the request.  My sister really needs some "get a new job"
purrs.  She's worked at her company for 10 years, manages 2 departments, and
has outlasted 6 bosses.  Her current boss seems to be hell-bent on getting
her fired or making her quit, so she's sending out resumes and contacting
anyone she's worked with in the past 10 years who might be able to help her.
I'm hoping that some purrs will give her the boost she needs.

Thank you for your help.  I don't usually join in the conversation, but I've
got Peter purring for all those in need.

Welcome, Suzanne.

I'll be glad to send purrs your sister's way.

Hi Suzanne! I think I remember Peter--I had a cat who also loved to be
vacuumed and I do recall that post. Purrs for your sister--I know how
stressful her situation must be right now. Please jump into the fray
any time, we'd love to hear about Peter. He sounds like a grand old
cat, just like my old Cherokee.

Hello and welcome (to posting). Are you a woman of wealth and taste? :)

> I'm a Bostonian who...

I'm from Boston, too. I was born there, and in fact, my parents'
apartment at the time of my birth was in Allston, so that was where
I first lived. Royce Road, if you know where that is. Other than that,
though, I've never lived there. But I have lived all around the area -
north shore, south shore, and in the city proper.

Oooh, Vino! Are you listening? :) A buddy for you!

Purrs on the way. Can I share them with her? I really need a job too.
I've got 3 furballs, so I think there'll be enough for both of us.

Another almost Bostonian,  born and raised in Woburn, 12 miles Northwest of
Boston, lived in Winchester, 10 miles Northwest of Boston, for 15 years
before moving to Central Florida.  My mom and daughters still live there.
At times I miss it very much!

No cat sigs as they are all Florida natives!

My sister lived in Fort Lauderdale for several years and was adopted there by a polydactyl black cat named Natasha.  Little did Tasha know that she would eventually be sedated, put in a carrier, and relocated to the frozen north.  She seems to have adjusted, though.

As nice as it is to have my sister nearby I really miss visiting Fort Lauderdale at Christmas.

Taste, yes.  Wealth, I'm afraid not.  Glad you got the reference.

I live on Brainerd Road, three blocks up from Royce Road!  I grew up in Jamaica Plain and have lived all over Allston, Brighton, and Brookline (with a 13-year detour to New York/New Jersey).

Thank you for the purrs.  I'll have Peter and my sister's cat, Natasha, begin purring for you immediately.

As someone who's been in that position (and still is to an extent- if
my boss isn't trying to get me to quit then she shouldn't do what she's
doing!) my sympathies and of course some Fabulous Furball purrs

We are purring that your sister gets a new boss one way or another.  We
are also purring that it comes as a complete shock to her lousy boss.  MLB

Purrs on the way.  I know the feeling; same thing happened to me when a new
manager took over the department.
