Smokey:  Pizza, sandwich.

In his feral years, Smokey begged a lot of food off of military
personnel and students.  He still believes that pizza is a kind of cat
food, and gets excited when we bring it home, thinking it is all for
him.  He also gets hyper at the sight of a sandwich and demands a bite
in "tax."

Nocturne:  The souls of the innocent (in actual fact, tartar fighter
Pounce)

Nocturne likes to look brooding and evil.  She will snub offerings of
meat, tuna, cheese, soft cat food and most cat treats, but has a real
love for things that are extra crunchy.  She has been known to eat
oreos and potato chips, and loves Tartar fighter Pounce.

Kumani:  Bugs

Kumani's really into bugs and spiders.  If one is on the ceiling or
window, Kumani will scream until we lift her up to catch it.  it's
annoying when she thinks the shadows on our stucco walls are bugs.

Tyche:  Ice cream, coffee, booze

Tyche likes to tip coffee mugs and beer bottles to drink the contents.
She shoves her face in mugs to lap coffee.  She licks vodka coolers
around the lip.  This is obviously NOT ALLOWED but she beelines for
any coffee/alcohol if there is company that doesn't know enough to
hold it at all times.  Our one concession to her weird tastes is
permitting her to lick the icecream bowl AFTER we have eaten the
contents.

My cats really just like catfood. But ham is an acceptable treat. Oh, and
Grant likes turkey babyfood.

You have a ham freak too? All three of ours have a scary ham fixation; Roxie
once needed a ham fix so badly that she pulled a chunk out of my Louie's
sandwich, as he was raising it to bite! We've found a ham cat food at one of
our supermarkets; just a store brand, their take on Fancy Feast, but they
love it. I've never seen it elsewhere.
Believe it or not, their favorite treat besides a healthy pinch of catnip is
a squirt of salmon-flavored hairball treatment. Stosh and Brandy, who have no
manners anyway, will rip my fingers off for it; Roxie is much more delicate
and polite.
Stosh likes plain yogurt too, but Roxie won't have it. Brandy has yet to be
introduced to yogurt. Brandy won't touch kitten food though. Her favorite is
Iams for adults.

We discovered yogurt as a cat treat when our Fritzie was still with us. Louie
and I were sick, and neither of us felt like cooking. He got Indian takeout,
including Dahi or a plain yogurt dip to go with bread and hot curry. When our
backs were turned Fritzie dove into the yogurt bowl. He was a sight, with big
smears of yogurt all over his totally black face! The vet approved it as a
treat for diabetic cats; Indian style homemade yogurt is fat free and has no
sugar, but isn't nasty-sour like the plain stuff you buy in the supermarket.
Fritzie was in hog heaven. After two years of no treats, to have one finally
approved that he loved! I think that when he went to RB, he met the Lord
there, with a big bowl of yogurt in his hands.

Blessed be,
Baha

Vino loves ham too.  I always get this pepper ham and he even eats the
edges which have a ton of black peppercorns on it.  He knows the sound
of the package of ham being unwrapped and comes running from upstairs
to get some.
Vino also loves yoghurt.  I always put yoghurt on my cereal and eat it
while reading the NG.  Vino will sit on the computer desk and stare at
me.  When no yoghurt is forthcoming, he'll actually reach out and hook
his paw into my bowl and pull it towards him.  Then we have a little
tug of war with me pulling the bowl back and saying stuff like: "Vino,
stop it!  That's my breakfast, you already had yours.  Go away!"  and
Vino will say stuff like this: "Meee ow!  Ow! Maaaah!".  Eventually
I'll finish my breakfast and put the bowl down for him to lick out.
I make my own yoghurt and for a while I was making cappuccino
flavoured yoghurt.  Well, it didn't take long to realize that the
caffeine was just too much for him.  He usually goes back to bed right
after breakfast and doesn't really do much until the afternoon.  But
with coffee yoghurt, he would be up and running around all day!  Then
he would crash in the evening.  So now I just make mango yoghurt or
vanilla.

Mine key in on the sound of the mayonnaise jar opening.  That means
it's either going to be a ham or turkey sandwich.  Just like organized
crime, they want a piece of the action.

They sure learn sounds, don't they? Mine have figured out the series of sounds
that mean cat food is forthcoming. If I'm feeding one, all four will appear
when they hear 1) The drawer opens, spoons rattle. 2)Pantry door opens. 3) Pop
top on can.
They'll sometimes come running after #1 & #2 before the cat food actually
opens.

Hee hee.  We actually go outside to open any pull-top cans that are
*not* cat food.  Otherwise, it's just not worth it.   ;-)

Wilson's ears are attuned to the microwave in the mornings,This morning
he was very confused, usually my first job is to open a can and put the
contents
onto a saucer and into the oven for a few seconds,he always comes galloping
into the kitchen, this morning I decided to do my sugars and insulin first,
as I was finishing up, Wilson came racing in to the kitchen door, not
noticing me in the chair, and stopped dead, 'no Meowmie,' I was laughing to
myself, he looked so surprised,I sat and watched as his eyes moved around
the kitchen,'wherever is she hiding."  Then very slowly he
turned his head and looked at his placemat,
there was no breakfast there, so disconsolately, he turned and walked back
to the Veranda. Naturally I got up immediately and fixed his breakfast

Dear Baha,
I'm using the Google Groups beta. Don't much like it. But I did have
one quick question. Didn't think Sikhs ate ham. Or is that Muslims and
Jews? Am I mistaken? I must be.

I can answer that one for you.  Many Sikhs do not drink alcohol and many do
not eat meat at all.  Levels of observance differ among individuals of most
religions.  I'm quite sure you know Mormons who drink coffee.  Etc.

Or as a Muslin explained to my husband once while they were having a beer,
I'm at least as good a Muslim as you are a Christian.

Amelia and Sammy: nothing but kitty food. I try to feed them good canned
stuff, but they won't go for it. They only like the cheap canned stuff,
preferably Tuna and Shrimp flavor. But they do get good quality dry food
as well.

Cleopatra: The same canned and dry food as Amelia and Sammy, but she
also likes some milk and a little yogurt.

Tabitha: The usual cat foods, plus she loves turkey and roast beef out
of our sandwiches. And if anyone happens to bring home ice cream, watch
out! She'll be all over it. It's hilarious to watch- she'll climb up on
your lap to lick the ice cream out of your bowl, and she'll sit there
with her eyes closed while she licks. She REALLY likes her ice cream!

Stinky:
Wow.  Number One is chicken.  HOT chicken.  He gets that glazed,
trembling, chicken junkie look when I have it.

Then, in no particular order: Chocolate (this is a real pain, since I
can't let him have any, obviously); Broccoli, carrots (cooked);
anything with garlic; lasagne, ravioli, almost any cheese; anything
flavored with dill-- almost anything herb-y; potato chips-- regular,
and in all kinds of offensive flavors.  Peaches.  Shredded wheat, Rice
Chex.  Bagels (toasted).  Pizza.  Mushroom barley soup.  The list goes
on. ;)

Lol!  What strange tastes Stinky has.  *peaches*  Wow.  Mushrom barley soup
(whatever that is?), dill,  your cat is mad ;-)
Kitty had to find her own living for a few years, so she isn't too fussy
about what's edible.  She will eat "hoomin" leftovers like potato, vegs and
gravy.  Maybe it's all she got once, I know my ex-next door neighbours used
to feed her dinner scraps.
Boyfriend was probably not a stray for long enough to appreciate this
cuisine.  What he really likes is dry cat food, the more expensive the
better.
He isn't that keen on moist canned food, even pouches of chicken & kidney in
gravy sometimes get the thumbs down.
Kitty will eat cheese, potato crisps, pasta, spuds, peas, carrots,
cauliflower, moist food, dry food, mice, rats, birds, some of the milder
curries.  Chicken she loves most of all.
Boyfriend says they are all poisonous and he'd rather be seen dead than eat
them.  He likes his biccies.  He will occasionally eat some chicken and he
has been known to eat a few birds.
It makes me wonder who he belonged to before and whether they reared him
completely on dry food and that could be why it's his favourite.

That sounds vaguely familiar.  When I'm eating a smoked turkey
sandwich, Betty's eyes become veeery big, her whiskers become trembly,
and she watches very carefully as I take bites of my sandwich.  She
starts by pointing to what she wants.  So she'll either point a paw at
my plate, or at my hand.  If I don't respond, she'll grab my wrist and
pull it towards her so that she can have a sniff, and maybe a bite.
She gets such a delighted look as she's doing this that it makes me
laugh.

Gossamer: tuna, cheese (preferably American although she'll eat most
varieties), vanilla ice cream, beef & bean burrito filling and just about
any cat food I've ever fed her.  She's also once stole asparagus off my
plate so I gave her a small dish of it and she wolfed it all down.  Of
course she hasn't touched it since then....

Jeeves: tuna, crackers (esp. saltines, wheat thins & cheddar cheese
goldfish), steak (he does upside-downy head somersaults, or as DH says
"Thundersaults" on the feet of whomever is cooking it), Tostitos Queso Dip
(medium hot), and all dairy products.  He demands his milk every morning:
"Moom?  Miwk! Mooom?! MIIWWK!!"
When he gets ice cream he tries to lick it all up quick but you can tell his
tongue gets really cold.  He can't decide between letting the tongue thaw
out and eating the yummy ice cream :)

Our Smokey likes a wide variety of foods, especially dairy (Cheese, Cream,
Ice Cream) and pretty much any meat/fish except Pork. She also likes Whiskas
dry by the bucket full. She won't touch any other dry food. She also likes
Kraft dinner. Smokey also detests cat treats.

Cali prefers cat food, preferably crunchy, any quality brand will do. She's
not much for people food, except maybe Bacon and raw/rare beef. She despises
Poultry and fish. She seems to like spicy food though, Doritos and HOT
wings. Cali also likes treats, but only the crunchy ones.

Cats seem to have as varied food preferences as hoomins!

My Djoser won't eat anything but his dry food and an occasional
Whisker Lickin. Robin likes his dry food and some of Sheba's diabetic
dry food as a treat. As for human food, he wants his meat plain; no
mesquite grilled or bbq or sauce of any kind. He doesn't like
processed meats.

Sheba's all-time favorite is Cheetos. Any rattley bag just has to have
Cheetos in it and she wants some NOW! She also loves braunschweiger.
And bites of anything I am eating. Of course, I have to be careful how
much of anythign I give her so I don't mess up her blood sugar level.

All three cats would give up all these favorites for fresh-caught
mouse or bird, preferably still alive. :-)

the other cat gizmo, she will really eat any cat food put in front of her ,
and can give or take hoomin food , dependant on her mood i guess. but the

ROFL!!!  I read this line to my DH, and he laughed too.  :-D

Tallulah and Hubert are interested in everything we eat, but so far
haven't been allowed to sample a whole lot of people food.  Their day
is coming, I expect.

My RB Mike, on the other hand, liked pretzels, grapes, Doritos, and
asparagus, but his favorite food in all the world was watermelon.

Oh yes, you're one of those people who think it's funny that my cat is
the Dark Goddess incarnate, aren't you?  ;)  *mutters at little black
