Monique Y. Mudama - 05 Jan 2006 20:08 GMT Someone put a few boxes in the office kitchen today, so I've finally tasted them. They're yummy!
They also posted directions for a Tim Tam Slam, but I didn't try. I needed my warm beverage a little faster than that this morning =)

The Slam has been immortalised by Mal Webb, songwriter of Oxo Cubans fame in the song "Tim Tam Slam": Once I met a girl, she said her name was Pam She told me that I ought to try the Tim Tam Slam...
...She showed me how it's done and you can do it too Get yourself a hot drink and Tim Tam or two Then bite both ends off one and use it as a straw Then quickly gulp the lot before it ends up on the floor Hot chocolate, tea or coffee It's a choice you'll have to make 'Cos when it comes to sugar rush, this really takes the cake We were doing the Tim Tam Slam And them's pretty much the instructions for doing... the "Tim Tam Slam". The trick is to get the fully-soaked biscuit into your mouth just before it disintegrates. Hey, nobody said anything about elegance.
Well, I sure wish they sold them here just so I could try one.

Reading this group often makes me > hungry. They have them at Tescos here in Thailand too. But the ones they sell here are made in Malaysia and even though they look the same, they definitely don't taste the same. For some reason, Asians can't "do" chocolate. I never eat them here but in Australia we eat them all the time. We will have to stop that once we move over there or else we'll need new, bigger, wardrobes!

Think less like a candy bar and more like a cookie, maybe.

They're more like Oreos, only better, and covered with really good chocolate, not the waxy stuff you usually get in the United States.

Were they plain TimTams or a variety?

Plain Double dipped (extra chocolate on the outside) Dark Chocolate Caramel Tia Maria (or Kahlua) flavoured Choc-Chilli

Signature Cathi, interested in the chilli concept
Tish Silberbauer - 07 Jan 2006 11:41 GMT >And what are the Choc-Chilli ones like? Oh-so-YUMMY
Not really chilli-hot, just wonderful with a bit of a tang. I think chocolate and chilli are one of those magic combinations.
Tish (who has only had 1 biscuit, but that was enough for an addiction)

I think the Aztecs found that true - some Mexican dishes (like Chicken molé) combine the two (although they don't sweeten the chocolate).
