Ranger and I have had a couple of interesting encounters in the last
couple days. New Year's Eve I was taking a nice, hot bath (real party
animal, that was the high point of my night). Ranger did as he always
does, came up on the edge of the tub to explore and try to figure out why
I was intentionally sitting myself in a tub of water. The water had only
reached about 3" deep when Ranger got a little too inquisitive. He was
trying to walk along the back lip of the tub which is only about 1/2"
wide. Of course he lost his balance and stepped into the tub. Fortunately
he landed on his feet and only scrambled a little bit to get out (hence
only mild scratches on my back), but when he did finally get out he had
his back paws on the outside lip of the tub and his front paws on the
inside lip - he was spanning the entire tub, and no way could he recover
either direction. I decided to be a good catslave, dried off my hands, and
lifted him free of the tub onto the bathroom floor. What did he do next?
Yep, right up onto the edge of the tub to watch!
The latest incident was last night while Nancy was at work. Just after
Halloween my brother brought me Halloween cat - a plastic cat (a very ugly
one) with a motion sensor. When it detects motion it plays some really
loud, really obnoxious music. I've been keeping it on top of the TV facing
the wall so it won't see motion and turn itself on. While I was brushing
my teeth last night I heard a "whump" from the living room, and figured
Ranger was climbing on the cabinets knocking books off again. A couple
minutes later this loud obnoxious music starts, and a moment later a
little grey streak flashed by the bathroom door and into the bedroom.
After the music shut itself off Ranger slowly made his way into the
bathroom with his eyes as wide as saucers.
Since I had just finished brushing my teeth I picked him up and snuggled
him until his heart rate had slowed to normal. He stuck really close to me
the rest of the night.
And when I carried Ranger into the living room, Harri gave Ranger a
withering stare that clearly said "you idiot!".

LOL, who needs TV when you've got a kitten.

Even when I've got the TV on I find myself watching the kitties more than
the tube.
Between Harri and Ranger pulling kitten antics, and Amelia lurking in her
nylon cube and ambushing anything that walks past, they *are* much more
interesting than anything on TV.

LOL! I wish I had a bathtub. I'd love to see how the kitties would react
(and I would love to soak in a hot bath once in a while).

When I take a bath Persia sits on the toilet seat lid next to the tub and
talks to me. She proceeds to show me the proper grooming method. If she
deems I'm not paying enough attention she will step over to the rim of the
tub and lick my shoulder, a further demonstration which should surely
convince me! It's very amusing :)

When I take a shower, Caliban sits on the toilet tank just outside the
shower curtain and sticks his head around the curtain, sometimes he
flails with a paw or two at the evil water that's attacking Meowmie. :oD
Sometimes I even find him completely *inside* the shower curtain, and
when he gets wet, he sits there for a moment with a 'Wha-huh?' look on
his face before he bolts. I shouldn't judge him, since he's just a
kitten still, but I'm starting to suspect he might not be the sharpest
egg in the basket. ;oP

Everytime I go into the shower I get an audience. I have the shower door
closed and they go nuts because I have it closed. They will pull on it till
it opens or I open the door to grab some shampoo. Than they come running in
( the shower is still on ) Death from above happens they get soaked and go
running to mommy caterwauling than I got them wet. This has been going on
for years
When ladies of the house take a bath I almost can set a stop watch on it.
About 10 to 15 minutes into the bath SPLASH a few choice cuss words and in
come flying a drowned looking rat I mean a cat looking at me "Like what
just happened" They never learn
They actually sit still for us when we have to get them a bath as long as we
let them see what is going on. Cover their eyes all hell breaks loose.

When we were still in our condo in Vancouver, Vino used to get on the
back of the toilet and then jump onto the top of the sliding glass
shower door. It was about 2 inches wide and there was maybe a foot of
room to the ceiling. He'd get up there and perch precariously and look
down upon me or Dennis while we showered. It was so cute!

LOL Silly kitties! I have a halloween decoration that has a motion
sensor -- a figure that looks like a small child with a sheet over
them, dressed as a ghost -- and it took my 2 new-comers by
surprise this, their first, Halloween here. It sing-songs "trick
or treat give me something good to eat"
Bonnie used to love it during her foot fetish phase.
