On Wednesday Will will be having at least one tooth extracted. Another kitty from the Yahoo inhaled meds group I belong to will be having teeth extracted that same day. If we're awake in the early morning hours I should be able to elicit some fine purrs for your dental work, Marina. Will usually likes to have a purring and petting session sometime before it's actually breakfast time. (I'll have to refrain from mentioning that he won't be getting any breakfast that morning.) I will give him his inhaled steroid as usual, then an extra hit of his bronchodilator. Then the vet has to use an anesthetic which is right for an asthmatic cat, and monitor him very carefully. If Will were a more severe asthmatic there are some other things which could be done, but he's been through all this before without problems. (Not that it isn't a bit worrisome any time a cat has to have general anesthesia.) SignatureWayne M. |
