Happy New Year, Ginger, et al. =o) Ginger, I hope your 2006 in
particular is disaster free at very least.

I'm not sorry to see the last of 2005, either.  Not the happiest year
of my life, even though I didn't have all the hurricanes and other
assorted disasters everyone else went through.

Let's be happy and healthy this year, all!

Happy New Year to all Owners and Catslaves!

Yeeeee haaaaaaw!  Let's get rid of that nasty old 2005 (2004 wasn't so hot,
either) and bring in a GOOD new year!

Like the packet of salted peanuts that had "Warning: may contain
traces of nuts" on the outside?

Well, just to spoil the joke, peanuts aren't nuts, they're pulses, so a
person who's allergic to nuts could do with a warning anyway.

I don't know what "pulses" are (except for the beats of one's heart,
of course) - do you mean legumes? Beans, etc?

Some people have deadly alleries to peanuts, whether they (the peanuts,
not the people) are nuts or not. I don't know if that means they have
allergies to other beans and legumes, though, or whether it is related
to nut allergies.

Yes, beans and such. I had to check in the dictionary whether I used the
word correctly, and I did. Pulses n. (usu. pl.) (the seeds of) beans,
peas, lentils etc.

Yes, but someone who is allergic to nuts isn't necessarily allergic to
peanuts, so the warning on the package is important for those people.

Well if youre going to be pedantic, Peanuts are a legume (a member of the
pea and bean family) Scientific name: Arachis hypogaea. AFAIK pulses grow
above ground, unlike peanuts.

Hey, she's entitled!! :):)   2005 was a disaster for her from
beginning to end!!  I think *I'd* do a few loop-de-loops, too, if I
were she.  (OK, I'm strange as well!)

Happy New Year, Ginger-lyn.  I can see why you're so happy to see 2005
end, it wasn't a good year for you so hopefully 2006 will be much, much,
much better!
I feel almost guilty to admit this of a year that was such a disaster
for so many, but it was a pretty  good year for Dennis and me.  We got
our Aussie visa and bought our dream lot.  But we are very much looking
forward to 2006 and our move to Australia, it will be the beginning of a
whole new adventure and I hope it's a good one!
