TBird - 24 Sep 2004 14:50 GMT I was really tired when we went to bed. Even forgot to cover and put away the dinner leftovers. Got in bed, kiss good night, passed out cold, started dreaming.
About that damn movie Alien. The dream started where Aliens left off - the thing had climbed onto the bottom of the ship and they landed on earth with it and someone handed out marijauna that automatically impregnated people with the Alien embryos. Then the dream got wierd - Duncan MacLeod (from the Highlander TV series) was there to save the day. Now how gruesome a thought is that? Immortal incubators - he incubates the alien fetus, it rips out of the Immortal, he heals, and it can be done over and over again. YIKES!
Thankfully (?) I was woken up from that dream by a nineteen pound cat dragging his considerable bulk over my hip so he could get between me and DH, purr like a small tractor, then body slam himself down on my shoulder.
I almost got back to sleep, but the little cat decided to jump up and nestle against my shin bone. Okay - I can handle this.
Until the big cat decides to attack the little cat, and then I am obliged to give him a flying lesson, hoping she has gotten out of his way by the time he lands.
They take the fight into the hall.
Okay. Close my eyes, think peaceful thoughts... but the nineteen pound cat is back to repeat earlier purr-body slam combo. No problem.
Until he decides to wash himself. Nineteen pound cat on my shoulder now washing his chest in thundering movements that threaten to bounce the bed across the room, accompanied by Joes very special sloppy slurping noises. "No," says I, and I lay my arm across his body to stop the slurping bouncing bath. He relents. I close my eyes.
Joe launches himself up and decides to walk down DH to sleep on his foot.
I roll over and close my eyes.
The alarm goes off.
I am told that cats lower our blood pressure, they are good for us, they help us relax. I guess that's true if it means you are too tired to get upset about anything....
TBird <---- not buyin' it

"Is this sickness or an off day? Why didn't you meow me awake this morning? Are you sick? Hmmm. She ate, but she is kind of huddling. Are you huddling?" Yes, Pearl seems out of sorts this morning. For the first time in two years (at least I don't remember her doing this before) she didn't get out of her bed for breakfast. She didn't meow at me. She did eat a bit, but then usually she goes and scratches on the scratching post, but today she meatloafed. *sigh*. I will see what lunchtime brings.

Aw purrs that it's just the change in the seasons and not some forewarning of possible illness.
If I pay attention I can tell when the weather is going to change by watching LB and Rocky - Sammy seems to be useless for weather forecasting (except for a couple hours before thunderstorms) - probably since she has never had to worry about finding shelter in the OUT.

Clifford (RB) generally liked thunderstorms and fireworks from inside the house -- he'd rush to a window, while Chatterley (RB) hid. On one memorable occasion, however, my workshop double doors weren't securely latched, and, as Clifford strolled by, were blown open by a gust and he was instantly drenched.
He ran to his hoomins, most indignant. It was clearly not fear, not anger, but a sense that the proprieties had been violated. He much appreciated lots of towels and a radiant heater.

Sammy and LB sound like your two. Sammy hides while LB finds a good spot to watch the light show. LB does hide if it starts to hail, though.

jXwXeXrXmXoXnXt@sonic.net - 24 Sep 2004 21:26 GMT > LOL. What kind of weird nightmare is that? :) I had a very bizarre dream last night. Some of it was a bit creepy, but I wouldn't call it a nightmare. There were some lovely parts to it, too.
It started out in an old apartment of mine. This weird guy kept coming in and hanging out in different rooms, hiding expertly whenever I or my old roommate went to look for him. It wasn't clear what he wanted. We were a bit unnerved by it, but didn't feel exactly threatened by him either. I got the feeling he just wanted to be there, to feel like he belonged somewhere.
Finally I got sick of it and called the cops. The guy figured it out and was out of there fast. So I followed him into a hallway (which never actually existed in that building, of course - it was more like a hallway in a school than in an apartment bldg). A bunch of people were milling around. I kept spotting the "stalker" guy, and then he'd disappear.
Then I saw him run into another apartment and shut the door. I followed him, but couldn't get in because the door was locked. So I sat on the floor in front of the door, hoping a cop would come by so I could tell them their man was in there. Suddenly, I heard noises like a baby whimpering, and the next I knew, two babies crawled out from under the door. One of the babies was normal-sized for an infant, and the other was the size of a small kitten. Both looked human, though. I was quite puzzled about that, and was trying to figure out which one was the correct size for a human infant. :) Also, I looked under the door again and there was Roxy, looking a bit nervous, but not sure she wanted to come out. That really worried me - I was afraid the weirdo would hurt her. But I managed to grab her and pull her out of the apartment.
I went back to my apartment with the two babies and Roxy. The rest of the dream focused a lot on the normal-sized baby, who was a little black girl with a really sweet smile. Every time I looked at her, she'd smile and giggle, which made me totally happy. I became very attached to her - played with her, cooed at her, hugged and kissed her, gave her some food, etc. Her parents had gone out of town, and although I thought it was odd that they'd left their babies alone, I wasn't horrified by it. I was more concerned that they'd come home and find the weirdo guy in their apartment and think he'd done something to their kids. Eventually they did come back and I brought them their little girl. No idea what happened to the miniature baby!
Joyce - with 3 miniature babies sacked out on various surfaces. Perhaps dreaming of giant babies? :)

This isn't Alien, it's an X-Files episode!! :)
Joyce - been watching a lot of X-Files reruns myself lately
