Living a couple of blocks from the fire department has reminded me to
put a decal in the window by the front door to alert emergency that
there are 4 furry family members in the house.

Here's what I made: (found the vinyl decal material that lets you
print on waterproof, self-adhesive removable film)

Kewl!  I made my own and laminated then and then stapled them all around the
house, but I like yours better I think.  Besides which mine has a picture of
Sammy as a baby - I don't think they'd recognize the behemoth who lives here
now!!  ;>

Thanks for posting those.  Where did you get the vinyl material?  Here
I use the ones issued by the FD because it will be those designs they
look for in case of emergency.  But my sister and a couple of friends
need some and I think these would be great little gifts!

They got it to me in less than 5 days from TX, and I ordered it on
Christmas day (there was a bad fire near here, fire trucks going
by for hours. Which is what reminded me that I needed to put up a
sign about the furry guys)

Nice!  I bought a couple of those and posted back here about 2 years ago.
They let firefighters know there are animals to be rescued inside.

You probably already saw the reply to Lyn, but in case you didn't
I'll repost. Neat material. I've pulled it off and restuck it just
to see two things: if it really does restick, and to see if the
ink bled. It's been rainy today.  It didn't bleed.

That's really cool.  Especially the pictures, so that the emergency
workers know what to look for.

which are a very good idea....Here, we arent allowed to put stickers on
our apartment door, but I will certainly do something like that if/when
I get a house.

I've been in this mode lately. Doom and gloom I guess. Thinking about
how to deal with losing things due to disaster. I got the kittens
chipped last week when they went in for their yearly. The other two
will get chipped when it's their turn. I'm shopping for a fire-proof
safe that I can carry out if needed. Just got 2 new carriers so all
the guys have their own. Need to sort papers and organize.  I hope
this passes soon.
