As I've mentioned before, I've been working as system administrator for a
web hosting company since July. My coworkers aren't bad as coworkers go,
but I have always had a very hard time dealing with people. My co-workers
haven't learned much about me, beyond the facts that I love kitties and
run no operating system other than Linux.
We had our Christmas party Friday, and as part of the party we did a
secret Santa gift exchange. I have never been fond of partys, and I've
always hated gift exchanges, but I participated in this year's in an
effort to fit in a little better.
The person that drew me did well, and picked a lot of nice
little kitty-lover gifts. One of them was a present for the kitties - a
Kitty Bag. It's got a little battery-powered motor that runs for a while
for random periods, making the bag shake and vibrate. Of course we had to
try it out as soon as I got home.
Ranger was the first kitty to check it out. He sniffed it carefully, and
when it started to shake he jumped back. The whole 3 minutes it ran he was
sniffing carefully, and occasionally touching the bag carefully. But it
was clearly something very dangerous, so he never got too close.
Amelia came next. She watched from a distance until she saw it start to
vibrate. That was enough - she wasn't interested in getting any closer.
Sammy saw the vibration and decided he had no interest in anything that
scary. Tabitha and Cleo didn't even enter the same room with it!
But then Harri Roadcat came in. She came in and sniffed it, and as soon as
it started to shake - she hit it! Bop-bop-bop! No kitty bag is going to
scare her! She sniffed it some more, and when it vibrated again she
pounced on it with both paws. It kept doing it's random shaking thing for
it's 3 minute period, but for the entire 3 minute period Harri left
absolutely no doubt who was in control. And after 3 minutes, she killed it
- it stopped shaking.
Of all the 6 kitties, Harri Roadcat was the most fearless of the bunch.
Nobody and nothing is going to scare my Tough Girl Kitty Roadcat!

Go Harri!!! I think you have a Guard Cat there.

LOLOL! I had one of those things. Persia would have nothing to do with it.
I sent it to Victor. His crew didn't like it, either.

The "Thing in the Bag" - I remember that. Victor sent it to me and I sent
it on to someone else here because my crews didn't like it either.

If the cats who have it now don't care for it, they can send it over here
next.

Holy cow!! Though she be but little she is fierce! I think that's the
first cat I've heard of that goes for Think in a Bag! I'd say that was
really good of your co-workers to follow up on kitty love. Many would
not be that perceptive.

IIRC, a Thing in a Bag made some dubious rounds around RCPA last year,
and either scared or bored a lot of kitties! Harri is da bomb! ;)

aw, little Tomboy Harri. A true roadcat indeed. :)
Lily just killed a yellow measuring tablespoon (plastic) so I took it away
and put it in the dishwasher since she wasn't supposed to have it anyway. I
have no idea where she got it from.
