Even when you're having a "poor this year" Christmas, you can brighten your
holidays for only a few dollars when you are owned by cats.
I thought this Christmas might feel especially lonely and bleak since the
children would be in New Orleans (we had given them their gifts before they
left), but man was I wrong!
I mentioned in a post earlier this week that I had gotten some cheap toys
and Pounce treats for the cats (and sprayed the toys with catnip spray). I
put the cats' presents under the tree and this morning rounded up all the
fur-babies to show them their Christmas bags.
Jessie, Sammy, and Demi had a game of hot pursuit under and around the
Christmas tree and bit and bunny-kicked the bags of presents until they got
them all opened. Bandit was content to sit on the side watching all these
antics while she munched on the "real beef" Pounce treats.
It was like having small children gasping at all the lovely presents Santa
Claus has brought them. Ben and I laughed our @$$E$ off and ended up having
a really fun Christmas morning!

No doubt about it-- it is turning out to be a perfect day!! Mommy and
Grandma making dee-lishus smells in the kitchen-- boxes and tissue
paper everywhere, the little dingbat is keeping busy and out of my
fur-- and if all that isn't enough, there are BIRDIES and SQUIRRELS
outside! Absolutely capital!
Love and peace to all kitties and their slaves,
Stinky

I'm so glad you're having a good Christmas. Of course every day with cats is
special.

Sounds glorious.
We couldn't travel with Oscar, so she is at home, being cared for by a
neighbor. I hope she's doing okay and not too lonely.
I showed my neighbor where the treats are. Maybe Oscar will be a
little more friendly so that she won't be too lonely.

I can picture it. This morning here started with the usual breakfast
for the kitties. Then, I put a new scratching cardboard in the Alpine
scratching cardboard thingie with some catnip to eat, and Rhett and
Shamrock went nuts. Then I found a mousie toy marinating in a jar of
catnip that must have been there for months, and presented it to
Scarlett. Bonnie got a few FF dry food kibble for a treat. Then I
filled up a sock with fresh catnip and we played fetch for a while.
Each and every one of them were all fired up, and just seemed to be
smiling. :)
