I love the kitten stories. But the strange thing is that they make me
realise that Minke never really went through kittenhood. He never did
much, never ran up curtains, shredded toilet rolls, or anything.
In fact sometime between eighteen months and two years he became a but
less well-behaved, but not really when he was a kitten.

He is an old soul in a young body.

Flicka and Zubie, whom we raised from kittenhood, were unusually
restrained kittens and never had a hoolikitten stage. I
remember one day when they literally bounced off the walls (and
off the humans) to the point that we felt like we were inside a
pinball machine -- but the reason I remember that day is because
it was the *only one*. They were four or five months old at the
time, and we thought, Finally, here it comes. And then, nothing
further in the way of hyperactivity. It was surprising and
disappointing (and yes, I know there are times when some of you
with kittens would settle for such disappointment).

Stosh and Brandy, who are almost 3 and 2 years old respectively, are still
just a couple of big hoolikittens. To this day we can't have toilet paper
hanging on the wall like a normal family, but must keep it in a basket on the
back of the john for its own protection.
Roxie and Odessa, a couple of years or so older, are so prim and proper as to
be almost Victorian. Or they would be, if Odessa didn't curse like a sailor
and if Roxie didn't beat the living snot out me every time I try to get her
ready for a vet exam. Odd behavior for a Buddhist cat, but then Roxie is a
complex lady.
Blessed be,
Baha

it's really neat to see them do cat things
(sounds weird but true)
they are so stereotypical cat minded

Yes, there's that priceless period when their mobility and agility far
