I was practicing my forms (martial arts) yesterday when I noticed
Oscar playing with her chili pepper (a fuzzy toy that can be stuffed
with 'nip, although I haven't done so recently) on her tree.

Naturally, as soon as I went to get the camera, she got interested in
what I was doing, so the shots aren't quite as action-y as I'd hoped.

Still, here they are:

She has that wild eyed playful look. Such a cutie. We don't see enough of
her!

It just seems hard to get a good picture of her.  Like, she's not pure
grey; she has these little peach-colored spots in her fur.  But do
they ever show properly in pictures?  Noooo.

Aaww, she looks like she's having fun. My sister gave my cats one of
those, a green chili that's a little smaller.

It seems to be a great favorite, probably because she likes licking
fuzzy textures ...

She's so pretty! I'm not sure I remember seeing a picture of her
before.

Just curious - how come the titles of the pictures all end in "-web"?

I've posted pictuers of her before, but it was quite a while ago.

Laziness.

They had endings of .JPG, and I prefer the lowercase .jpg.  So I
reused a script snippet to rename them all in one stroke, and I failed
to notice that, in addition to lowercasing the extension, the script
also added -web.  (Which was from wedding pictures, where I wanted to
be sure I didn't get the full sized and web sized pictures confused.)

Ah. Thanks for that explanation. Though I feel like by asking that, I
made you do more work in answering me than you would have if you'd just
gone and removed the "-web"s from the picture names. :) Sorry about that!

Nahhh.  I'm a typical programmer; I'd rather spend half an hour
cobbling together a script than spend a minute retyping almost the
same command 6 times.  The -web still identifies them as resized for
the web, which is fine with me, anyway.

That attitude does not extend to conversations, though.  I enjoy
talking/typing to people!

I am exactly the same way. This is why I still use a Unix shell account
for my email - my alloted disk space is full of little scripts and C
programs that I use constantly.

That's good!

I'm amazed at the number of us on this NG! I spend all day writing shell,
perl, and python scripts, and couldn't imagine spending my day any other
way. When I have a really big program to write I still resort to c, but
prefer the lighter-weight scripts.
