Thank you all so very much for your responses to my plea for purrs for
Speckles.  I'm overwhelmed.  You are the kindest folks - I know your
caring is genuine and is very much appreciated.

I had hoped at a minimum that Speck would hold on at least through the
holidays but at this point I doubt she'll make it through the weekend.
We took her to the vet  again Wednesday; the news is not good.  A new
development shows that her liver is nearly shot - the test results
were that damage was severe - off the charts, over 100 points above
the highest "normal" range.  It's also affecting her kidneys.  The vet
doesn't know what "assaulted" the liver.  Shocking, too, is that
X-rays showed the blasted hairball has returned, despite all the goop
put down her to prevent it.  We ended up with four different pills to
give her - one once a day, one twice a day, one three times a day, and
another twice a day.  Much of her day is spent popping pills!!  But
she is fading and our hearts are broken.

Again, thank you for your support.

There's not a lot to say to this, apart from you and Speckles are very
much in our thoughts, purrs and prayers.

It's so very hard to lose a beloved friend.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Jeanne!  You will be in our hearts and our

she'll be young and healthy again.

I'm so sorry, Jeanne, if the time has come.  All your on-line

Oh Jeanne I'm so sorry to hear this. You know, there really could be
something more there. Grant had that enormous hairball but it was on account
of the stomach cancer (which was not detectable on xray as it was not a
"tumor" kind but the kind where the wall of the stomach thickens and is
abnormal). I suppose the normal juices just weren't flowing. Purrs that
Speckles remaining time is quality time. Give her skritches and kissies from
us.

Oh, Jeanne, what can I say?  except that my thoughts are with you, I know
very well what you are feeling.
It won't be any consolation for me to tell you now what a good life you gave
Speckles, but you did, and I hope you will think of this when the time
comes.

Purrs and prayers are continuing. You will soon know when she is ready
to receive the ultimate gift. In the meantime she is supported with
all your love and tons of purrayers.

Jeanne,
We will continue to send purrs and gentle headbutts for Speckles and you, as
well. I found myself checking in every 30 minutes tonight as I did things
around the house to see if there were any updates from either you or
Melissa. All of your are in our purrs.
