My cats have their own personal Latin names now.
If the average housecat is felis domesticatus:
Tyche is felis philoglossus (Tongue-loving kitty)
Kumani is felis emesis (Barfing bitty)
Smokey is felis pokii (Ok, maybe it should be felis lethargii, but he
likes to be pokey)
and Nocturne is, obviously, felis tyrannus.

HRFL has his own Roman name that he's had for quite a while...
"Tiberius Maximus Victorius Vitus"
Tiberius (second emperor of Rome)
Maximus (Means the greatest)
Victorious (Victory)
Vitus (Life)
Call me sappy, but it's basically because he had such a fight for life
as a tiny baby-cat, and now he's "Tiger the magnificent" ;o)
