We have a little stray named Mooch Two who's become like our fourth cat. In
this cold Canadian climate, we've rigged a big chair on our veranda with
blankets and a heating pad, which we turn on for him. We also provide him
three or four meals a day, and water. It's a delight to come down in the
morning and see him sitting up in his pre-warmed bed, waiting for breakfast.
Over the months since he arrived he's changed from a scrawny waif to a
healthy-looking gent. It's all we can do. He's losing some of his wariness
of us, but he'll never let us touch him. We wonder what his former life has
been, but we're doing our best to make his present one the best possible.

The world would be a better place if more people were like you.

Awwww! How wonderful of you to take good care of the little gent like that!
Bless you :)

While I'm revving up the purrs motors here, we are sending warm ones
to Mooch.

Thanks for the warm words, ailurophiles. Almost all of you have performed
acts of kindness of your own by taking kitties into your homes. Mooch, of
his own choosing, will probably never join those fortunate ranks, but at
least we're trying to offer him some of the comforts he'd enjoy if he did. I
know of one person who adopted a little permanent resident who'd been found
on the tracks of the New York subway system. Now THAT adoptee is a fortunate
kitty indeed, and the adopter is a true ailurophile!

He's right now toasting his butt on the radiator. ;)

Don't lose hope about getting him tamer, Boyfriend was like this for a year,
and look at him now snoozing in his bed under the kitchen table! It was at
least eight months if not more before he allowed me a fleeting touch.

Yep, he's back in it! It's nothing to do with the cold here, or that it's a
lovely little bed which just fits him with a fleecy blankie in right near
the fire of course..
