Trouble loves to be under or inside of things so we have been on the
lookout for a miniature tent display model just big enough for her for
years.  Having no luck we started looking at children's play tents and
finally found the American Camper 3 in 1 Play Tent.  We spent about
$20.00 on it.  It has one small dome tent, one house shaped tent, and
a long tunnel to connect the two.  DH put the two tents together in
different rooms and put the tunnel with one of them.  We put a catnip
mousie into each of the pieces and left it to our three cats to decide
if they wanted to use them.  It wasn't long before we knew our
purchase was a good one.  The fabric makes a lovely noise when the
cats rub their paws on it, and we kept hearing the noise for hours.
All three of the cats like the tents but their favorite has to be the
tunnel.  It is just the right size because none of the cats have to
duck down to walk through it.    The tent fabric is thin enough to see
light through so if a cat is in one of them they can see the shadow of
another cat (or a toy held) near the tent pieces outside the tent and
they love to try to attack through the fabric.  So far there are no
tears or punctures in the fabric despite out three cats trimmed claws.

There is one serious draw back with the house shaped tent and I must
mention it here since this is sort of a consumer review.  Trouble
managed to jump onto one side of the roof from a piece of furniture
and she bent the PVC pole that holds up the ridge of the roof.  I've
seen PVC break before, but never bend.  Trouble kitty is a bit of a
fatty at nearly 14 pounds and always lands with a thud anytime she
jumps, so it was no real surprise the pole didn't survive.  DH is
going to replace the pole with a wood dowel or length of pipe after
the holidays.  

For space reasons we have taken down the dome tent, and removed the
house tent until we have a new roof pole so the cats are left with the
tunnel.  So far the tunnel has kept them busy whenever they are not
napping, begging for rubs, or doing other important cat business.  We
figure we can switch between the three tent pieces whenever they seem
to be bored with each piece and get the most cat fun for the money
that way.  So when they get tired of chasing each other through the
tunnel, we will put it away and set up the dome tent, then switch to
the tunnel, then the house tent, and back again.
