Ok. Sporticus...the man of the house was at it again. Was laying in bed & he
plopped down (all 16pds) on my chest. This doesn't bother me when he is
purring in my face as it usually helps me go to sleep!

Lately he's taken to confronting my with his backend. Not that I'm into this
but, since I have no sense of smell and he usually is offset a little bit
from my face..then I've put up with it.

Today he plops down on my chest his haunch on my neck. Which was sortof ok
but, then the old tail started to go. First, swattin' my nose then from eye
to eye then some to of random pattern...God knows what he thinks about.

Any ideas how to cure this? Or at the very least get him to turn around?

Cats seems to give us this unflattering view of themselves frequently.
It may be because they want to get the same perspective on the room,
and especially on the door, as we have. Cats' faces are much more
interesting than their little butts, but turning them around is a
problem. I find if you do it yourself no matter how gently they get
huffy and leave. Perhaps if you can endure the agony of being pounced
on in your midsection, you can take a shoelace to bed and get
Sporticus to chase it until he's facing your way, then hide it under
the covers. Otherwise, simply get used to the view!

That's actually what I did to Betty, just readjust her.  It seems that
nothing can get her to leave once she's on top of me. :)

You say this like it's a bad thing . . . . ;)

Kittens, when greeting their mommy, will stick their butt in mommy's face
for inspection (a bit like children presenting their hands to their mommy
before meals for inspection).  You should feel privileged at this honor! ;>

My Rexie does this constantly, and since, as of yesterday, he's 14
lbs, the landing is something! But as for the butt thing, my vet says
it's a sign of affection, and that I'm his 'mommy'.

My husband says that even when I'm asleep and Rexie jumps on me, butt
to my mouth, I reach up and grab his tail, making sure it's tucked
under his butt. Subconscious self defense, I guess!
