When I got home this afternoon Little Bit was very talkative, which is
kind of unusual. As I've mentioned before, there are just a couple
things which usually get her going - a dirty litterbox or wanting to
go outside. It sounded like her dirty box complaint, so before I
jumped in the shower I cleaned the boxes. When I finished up she came
to complain again as I was getting dressed, so I checked the food
bowl. I usually leave a little dry food out, and it was empty, so I
put a quarter cup out.
By this time she was getting disgusted with the dumb hoomin not
understanding what needed to be done. She pawed at the water bowl,
glared at me and meowed louder. One of Sammy's bottle caps was in the
bowl, and she wanted it OUT OF THERE! As soon as I took it out she
took a drink, not even waiting until I changed the water. At least
once a week Sammy bathes one of her bottle caps, and it's never
bothered LB before. Guess she's decided enough is enough and she ain't
gonna stand for it anymore.

She was probably thinking, "Food, water, litterbox -- this isn't
rocket science you dumb hoomin."
A great story Steve, thanks!

It makes you wonder what goes on in those little heads. They are amazing
how they can figure out how to communicate with us dumb humans.

I think they're just trying to confuse the poor dumb hoomin - namely
me. Like I said, they have a little dry Iams out during the day, then
I give them iams canned twice a day, rotating canned flavors. They
always like the ocean, so I always buy that, but rotate between the
other flavors. So, it's been maybe a month since they had the chicken,
and they loved it then. Tonight when I opened a can of chicken. Sammy
licked it a couple times and gave me a dirty look and LB just sniffed
and walked away. Rocky, who is like that kid Mikey on the old
commercial, ate a his normal portion. The rest just sat there until I
ended up putting it on the patio for the neighbor cats - who of course
licked the plate clean. Oh well, they'll just have to eat the old
standby ocena flavored until I get then the beef that they loved so
much last week. I save the chicken till next week, and they'll
probably love it again.

It probably has something to do with the phases of the moon and the location
of the Mothership.

It might be that I suppose.
Sometimes I wonder if the same kind of canned food may taste different, have
been manufactured different or something, at different times. Like, last
week kitty says this kind of food was wonderful, today it tastes like sh.t -
maybe a can gone bad - next week this kind is lovely again.

am I gonna eat it now, go buy some expensive stuff."

Sheesh, Steve, that is not the level of service she's accustomed to.
You'll have to shape up. ;-)
